I have all the parts so going to get the short block done by a notable race engine builder and I will do the top end. I have some photos...

Andrew came and picked up the body again a week ago and I'm sure he is happy with the end product now. on closer inspection the gelcoat was not a great finish and I have talked with my Glass man as to what we can do to improve it for my body so hoping not to have as much work to prep it for...

McLaren replica build base on a Manta

If Nothing else it completes the car and looks darn good as well. If you want more front down force the wee fences they did on the M8D would be worth a shot as they weren't glassed into the body and you could do them in alloy and screw them on, if they make on difference they are easily removed...

I now have the body back in my workshop, nothing serious I'm going to prepare it for paint, A little miscommunication, I said it would be finished in 2 pac primer and Andrew asked me to do it in black gel-coat so I took that as meaning just that. He is too busy to prep it so I'm going to finish...

A long time coming but worth it in the end. I'm happy with the shape and believe it is real close to the real thing and with a block rub and paint very straight which is hard to get on big flat surfaces such as this car has. The man who laid up the body said he was impressed with the finish on...

    the Steinard MK3 takes shape

I have read through the posts and in my defence I have backed up and tried to make right what has gone wrong with this project and I will continue to do so. Let me just say one thing, the first trans I sent John would not have had the problems this trans has had because it had double taper...

Nice bit of kit Rod, I have bought a Crank locally but thanks for the offer will keep you in mind next time I need something out of the states. So when do we start the big strip down? are you going to keep the Manta look or do you have ideas about "McLarenizing" it as Terry has done. I'm...

    M20 Dreaming

I have now framed up the 4 x side fender molds so they will keep the shape when they are off the plug and being layed up for the actual body, they can sit flat on the floor which will make them easy to work and solid when bolted together. Bryan: you have a PM. Russell: I have purchased...

Hey guys some great tips and I will take note as I'm ready now to do the top surface of the rear clip so that is the biggest single part so lots of waxing to do. the front fender sides came off much better than the rear ones so that is a good sign. we started to frame up the rear side molds so...

    M20 Dreaming

Well guys i have removed the 2 rear fender molds and to say they popped off would be a real stretch, I beat the crap out of them and levered them off with a crow bar at which point they did come off with most of the plug attached so after a couple of hours with a hammer and a scraper I got them...
