Andy, The tie-wraps were most probably there as a crude way to stop the tyres touching the chassis on full lock. Check the lock with the wheels on before you finish with the rack, you may need to fit some internal stops. Brian.

Anthony, Quite a few years ago my car was displayed on the club stand at the NEC before I had finished it. It had no glass or front and rear clips. The fuel tanks had not been plumbed in, so I drove it in with a gallon can strapped to the passengers seat! Go for it. Brian.

I believe all of the local DVLA offices have now closed and you have to deal direct with Swansea. The office in Theale has definately gone. Brian.
