How fast a GT can go?

I have been 140MPH+ in mine and the front end was very light and not at all confidence inspiring. It's great from 0 to 120MPH and perfect around town, light stearing.

    Would YOU Fly These People?

I guess I better say yes since I work as an R&D Engineer at the plant that builds the 737. Great plane but bad paint! Steve26

    302 V8 crankshaft/flywheel bolt centres?

Robin, first you will need to know what your engine balance is? It will be 50oz or 28 oz if it is a 302. You will need to know where the balance is in relation to the hole pattern on your crank and make sure it's in the right spot or you will vibrate your bearings to death! I would think there...

First time stopped in my GT40

Dave, My car was registered in July of 08! Have they changed the law since then? Mine was called an "assembled" 1966 FordGT40 by the officer at the inspection station. I know this was very lucky but when the error is in your favor you go with it. Steve26

First time stopped in my GT40

"Wish you could still do that Cliff. All the WA license bureaus are wise to the kit car laws now. Impossible to get a new 40 replica registered with collector plates now. In retrospect I should have gotten collector OR registration first and then changed states." IMPOSSIBLE? I have historic...

    930 to 351W

Hi Bill, It looks just like mine and it went together very easy. I didn't use any rubber bands or anything to hold the bearing but I did use an engine hoist to lift the 930 tranny. I think if you use a lift it's very easy to assemble. Steve

    Washington State gt40's

I just wanted to thank Brad and Selina for getting this together, I had a blast. It was really nice to finaly get to meet up with some of the Northwest GT owners and get to know them, I hope we do this more in the future. Also, a special thank's to the Pantera club that welcomed us so openly and...

    Holley Commander 950

Thank you guy's for your input. Mike, The reason I'm looking at the commander is that I have access to a new one at a VERY good price so while there is always something better out there this one is affordable. Roy, Are you using the throttle body or a multi port system? Did you have any...

    Audi 016,Porsche 944,Re-spline of 016

:embarassed: Dave, I did not mean to piss you off so let me start by saying I'm sorry if I did!!! I was just trying to give you a data point having just done the conversion you are thinking about. I have a 930 which is much more affordable than a G50-50 to be sure so the $4000 I spent included...

    Audi 016,Porsche 944,Re-spline of 016

"By the time I went for a G50 or whatever box I was up for $12000 to $15000" Really? Like I said I just did it for under $4000? My friend is putting a Ricardo in his GT and it's not costing him $15000. I'm not saying your decision is wrong but I will say that on a track car you will always be...

    Audi 016,Porsche 944,Re-spline of 016

So what's all this going to cost? I just replaced an Audi 016 box with a 1987 930 LSD box and the total cost was under $4000.00 and now I never need to worry about it. At what point do you just spend the money and be done with it? When you compare the 944 box with the 930 they are worlds apart...
