LS3 rear exit exhaust with cats - pics?

Oops - sorry, I meant "Allan".

    Heater

For reference, here are some pictures of what my hose routing looks like with the adapter and LS engine. Many of the hoses don't have clamps on them yet.

    Heater

My 4-port valve came with what looks like a short length of thin wall rubber hose. It is designed to slip over one of the ports of the valve as an adapter so that the 3/4" ID hose will push over it and provide a snug fit.

LS3 rear exit exhaust with cats - pics?

Mahlon, It looks like you removed the heim joints that support the rear of the transmission. Is this the case? If so, how are you supporting the weight of the transmission at the back end? (I'm getting an error message when I try to download the larger version of your pictures)

    GM Air Intake Kit

Thanks - that looks like the ticket!

    GM Air Intake Kit

Thanks, Ken/Allan! Just coming back to this now after a long break away. Does anyone have the part numbers handy for the Spectre grommets/adapters that Ken mentions above? Is the mounting location for the MAF or the tube critical? (in terms of how far along the aluminum tube they are...

    Steering wheel install questions

Hi Aaron, What did you do to get your steering column housing black? I have been thinking about spray paint vs. some kind of dye. I'm a bit concerned about paint wearing off . . .

    Steering wheel install questions

It looks like there are two options here: Drill and install a roll pin, or weld the end and hope the doohickey doesn't melt. A fellow builder replied directly and told a story about how his roll pin broke on the track, leaving him with no steering. Fortunately, no harm was done, but if this...

    Electrical Components

I am in the process of trying to figure out where to put the main electrical system components. My kit came with the ISIS system and I have the GMPP ECM kit with wiring harness. Putting various bits of evidence together, it looks like perhaps the GM kit was designed with the intention of...

Would love to hear some details on your exhaust. What kind of muffler? Cats? Routing for the pipes? Thanks!

    Steering wheel install questions

Thanks, Mark - I'm glad I asked. I would never have guessed that. After much messing around, I found a nut that fits over the end of the steering column and using a steering wheel puller, was able to get the ring out and the pieces disassembled - only to realize that it will be impossible to...

    Steering wheel install questions

I'm getting the Steering column ready for the adapters to be welded on to it and am trying to remove the plastic bits so they don't melt in the process. In order to remove plastic doohickey A (in attached picture), it looks like part B needs to be removed. It's hard to see, but it looks like...

    Steering wheel install questions

On mine, the seat is installed all the way back, so having the steering wheel closer (full length) is more comfortable. To do this, I will need to leave the fittings full length as Fran suggests, which will mean welding the "bottom" end of the adapters. Dave

    Steering wheel install questions

The adapter sleeve is quite a bit longer than the threaded fitting. I assume the bottom end of the adapter sleeve (opposite the splines) is where most of the length would need to be cut off in order for the threaded fitting to protrude through the top of the adapter sleeve . . .

    Tiltton pedal question?

Here are some pictures of my setup. I found that the factory supplied bracket had quite a bit of flex in it; I could move the pedal in and out and see the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) moving while its arm was stationary. I was concerned that this would give some unpleasant driving...

    Steering wheel install questions

I am trying to connect the factory-supplied steering wheel to the factory parts and am not sure whether I have it right or not . . . Below are three pictures: One shows the bare steering column stub Two shows the threaded fitting screwed onto the steering column stub Three shows the adapter...

    Bead coolant pipes

I bought one of these Wide Range Tube Beading Tool for my stainless coolant pipes. Worked fine, although I wouldn't want to build several cars with it; not sure the tool would last through multiple cars. The stainless is pretty tough stuff.

    Plasti Dip

Thanks for the info! I am a bit concerned about the concept of simply peeling the coating off and what that means for durability. I will be interested to hear your thoughts as time goes by.

    Plasti Dip

Hi Pete, I see you have done some of your interior pieces in plasti-dip. Could you please post some comments on how the finished product turned out? How does this compare to the Alfa soft-feel stuff? Does the coating appear to be durable for interior wear items? Where did you source your...

Can anyone suggest a source for the Master to Slave fluid line fitting? (12 x 1.5 AN3 90 degree)?
