SBF Windsor small block oil supply

Windsor block, likely to be 8.200"- there are no Cleveland coolant crossover passages on that block, more likely to be Boss302 heads or perhaps later SVO alloy Boss 302 style heads, more likely aftermarket like SVO with large bore as there are no valve reliefs cut in top of bore . std 4.000 bore...

302 teardown - what is my engine telling me?

Ford use the same gasket for both banks, since the gasket controls the flow amounts for each side one is fitted upside down in relation to the other bank, thats why they ae marked front rather than up or down. There should be a 'tag' on front outer corner of each.

    Covid19 vaccine- report your progress

Hi Ian, Pfizer and only the first two, eligible for the booster now timewise, but want to have follow up with Dr before having it. At no time has there been any pain or obvious side effects from those initial Pfizer Jabs and even when the internal bleeds were occuring there was no immediate...

    Covid19 vaccine- report your progress

Been a few comments in my neck of the woods ( New Zealand ) about those administering the vaccines not aspirating the needle to check for striking a blood vessel while doing so. When we ask why we get a somewhat flippant answer that its not necessary. With reference to myself I have to wonder...

    GTD engine mount advice

Simon, the ford mounts need a flat pad to sit on or they will twist on the long horizontal bolts under engine torque and eventually fail the rubber element of the mount. The flat pad should be welded to the blue RHS part of the chassis mount.

Acid Dip - mains caps on or off

I assume they will be using a 'modern' alkaline cleaner fluid in the hot tank which is not as savage as the older acid bath type used a few decades ago, Not many if any of those left due to health n safety. Bolt the caps on, as you said no galleries blocked off by them and I assume you will run...

    Explain This Clutch/Transaxle Behavior

Wouldnt that be five points total? , 2 OE mounts, 2 @ Adaptor plate and 1 @ tail end of transaxle.

    Explain This Clutch/Transaxle Behavior

Ford did it right with the FE engine & dedicated dry sump oil pan that had the lower lugs already cast into the pan along with all the mount points in the T44 housings, not surprising that the LS could be considered a deep skirt alloy copy of the Ford Small blocks.

427 Oil Pan...original, reproduction or what is it???

Looking at the photos I tend to think it might be from a marine or industrial application, the four boss's cast into front panel suggest a non standard mounting and it is also constant depth wheras car applications usually mount 'tail' down and oil drains from rear to front. But that might be...

Drawing or CAD file Ford Engine Block M-6010-BS351BB

Pretty sure that drawing came from one of the older/earlier members who was involved in the rebuild of one of the first MK2's, [ ADAM ]. I used the drawing along with others to make my FE/T44 Pattern, but be a while before I commit that to alloy.

    Craft Performance engine knock

"Drove it hard one night then it knocks next morning" Takes a while then truth comes out...eventually. I dont feel sorry for you, you have come on here, refused to even tell us what make of car, had folk from all over the planet try to diagnose whats going on & now you drop this bit of info on us.

    Craft Performance engine knock

So you still have no proof that they ever had dizzy out & or had actually checked/or set the ign timing, see what Im getting at? CPE dyno sheet says ign timing was 34deg, nobody wants to admit changing it or setting it @ 40deg.

    Craft Performance engine knock

I know, I said I was done. You need to get a bit clever as to how you ask questions etc... you have an invoice, does it show where they changed oil, primed/checked oil pressure as CPE suggest on their shipping policy, did you give them the CPE info, was it packed in the crate/box, Did the shop...

    Craft Performance engine knock

I would suggest that the key to the a/f ratio is due to the break in procedure, on the the dyno, manually controlled part throttle medium load for an extended time rather than a simple run it thru the full RPM range at full load. 14/1 af is lean-not rich- that is why others were suggesting an...

    Craft Performance engine knock

I'll repeat what I believe to be the timeline then.. 1. Engine was dynoed at CPE with CPE shop carb, timing @ 36deg. Oil & fluids drained for shipment? (CPE policy). 2. Spent ~4 month's in box awaiting time slot in California. 3. CPE policy is to ship dry as above, presume California Hot Rod...
