    FAST 2.0 EFI Install

I jumped from the EZ 1.0 after 6 months in the GT-40, straight over to the XFI Sportsman. Both FAST systems have worked very well, however, EZ 1.0 would only control fuel, and I wanted total control of both fuel and spark instead of having to use the standalone MSD programmable box. It's...

    twin front hood vents wanted

Then it must be the twin nostrils. Contact [email protected] at Hough Composites since he carries all the molds for the GT-40 and may be willing to help with just that part.

    Winged Dzus fasteners

Adrian, Dr. Bob has the same drawing I have. You can scale it down till it fits the dimension of your fastener. Like Bob said, it's good practice IMO to index the fastener so the slot is aligned with the airflow, even without the 'wings'. It gives you a quick visual during your walkaround...

    Unable to post to SPF

You may be onto something, Mike. While at SEMA last year (and probably this year), their focus was with the Cobras. The GT-40 on display there, and driven during the demo laps, was a disappointment/embarrassment to my wife and me. The fit and finish was poor, but the price tag was hefty...

    twin front hood vents wanted

Mike, If you mean the NACA ducts, there are several places to buy them like Pegasus Racing, and Hoerr Racing Products. You can glue them onto fiberglass, carbon/epoxy/polyester using the flexible, waterproof Marine Goop.

    Winged Dzus fasteners

Adrian, I have a drawing also but can't get it to you for a day or two. I don't see why you can't tig weld the wing to a modern day standard Dzus fastener. I am planning to do the same but it's low priority at the moment.

Rear Clip heat shield pictures, please

Dwight, Sounds like it's all coming together. Sounds like you have a team available to get that car looking and running its best! That rear clam can easily gain weight. I went with 3K carbon cloth at a 45 deg bias under that flat area covering the engine to ensure it stays stiff and flat...

Rear Clip heat shield pictures, please

Hey Dwight, I bet you're pretty stoked to get that car painted! What color scheme did you decide to go with? OK, speaking from experience, almost 6000 miles in the past 16 months, sitting in traffic on hot days, driving and parking in over 10k feet of thin air, doing track events, and...

    FS USA Chrome Bullet Mirrors

Chrome Bullet Mirrors (SOLD) I went through mirror OCD during my build and purchased a few different styles till I settled on what I wanted. Some were returned, others stuck around. Here are two of the Pegasus Auto Racing Chrome Bullet Mirrors up for sale, still new, never mounted. From the...

FS USA Hat (Bell) Mount Rotors (RCR)

Hat (Bell) Mount Rotors (SOLD) I have a set of four lightweight brake rotors available for US sale. These are RCRs "OEM" rotors found on the GT-40 using the Wilwood hubs. Two are brand new, only mounted in the garage for mockup, and the other two have less than 100 miles on them and are not...

    winter snow formula car Nuburgring

LOL, looks like an early morning drive to work for me after an overnight snow fall. A great way to learn some 'razor's edge' driving skills, IMO. As for the driver, he's just having fun in the snow on a clear track, I don't see any harm in it. He could use larger wings for a little more...

Size of holes at plenum / dash interface

Reality....the stock HVAC system provided with the car does not push enough air to make it effective, even at the high setting. That squirrel cage fan also makes a racket at that setting. Consider using high-speed computer server fans (12v) as boost fans that will fit inside your duct hose...

    Out to the Country

I hear you Mark...too much time wasted on build logs and political threads....just get the cars done! It was 77 deg here in the Denver area today. I was tempted to get the car out but I have a long list of inspections and updates I'd like to do on mine over the winter months. It's up on...

    Superformance GT40 MkI ***SOLD***

Mike, Sorry to hear that. Hopefully the car stays in CO so it has another GT-40 to play with. BTW, did you sell your larger 295 Avon rears? Mine are < 2/32".

Callaghan, Start researching Fire Suppression Systems on the Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies website. There's plenty there to help steer you in the right direction based on your track needs.

    Dash and Plenum

FWIW, and from my experience so far, I think the removable dash is over-rated. If you have to remove the dash, you probably have bigger issues, and removing the spider will gain you all the access you need and save you a ton of time (and aggravation) in the long run. With that said, you can...

    Dash and Plenum

Mitch, I think it depends on what year plenum you have. I believe the early ones were bonded to the underside of the dash, the newer ones are attached and sealed to the tub. Mine fit below the dash and spider, however, you will have to massage the plenum a bit (i.e. remove some topside...
