CAV - Getting the Horsepower to the Ground - Part V

[ QUOTE ] One problem with armondo's I just discovered is that if you have a 4 bolt mains, the pan will hit the out side main bolts. It had to be re-fabbed to fit the 4 bolt main..Just a note of thought. Oliver [/ QUOTE ] On my engine Keith Craft just did a little modification with a hammer...

    Chassis Setup for GT40s

I have finished up a new front suspension that includes quick/easy adjustment rod ends for the upper arm and polyurethane for the lower. Adjustable rod end for the tie rod permits bump steer adjustment. Shown HERE. The rear that I have been running for the last year has now seen the one...

    Chassis Setup for GT40s

[ QUOTE ] Positive caster on the rear? Is this something specific to your car or something you need? Just wondering, I've never run positive caster on anything I wanted to handle well. I'm not sure how I'll like toe in on the front. It is supposed to improve stability on the straights but...

    Chassis Setup for GT40s

Here is what I would call a baseline: FRONT toe IN 0.5 to 0.75 degree, camber -1.25 degree Caster +5.5 degrees Ride height 4.00 to 4.25 inches. Bump steer at zero of course. REAR toe in 0.25 to 0.5 deg Camber 0.75 to 1.0 degree Caster (if you can get it ) about 3 degrees Ride height 4.5 -...

    New Fuel Control Valve

If the fuel rail diameters are large enough there will be little to no pressure drop in the rail and thus all injectors will see the same pressure. With high pressure (EFI) I would guess vapor lock would not be an issue.

    ERA GT not mentioned much

The bottom line for me concerning ERA is this. They build a great car. Their customers love their product. At the low volumes they produce I think they will be largely uneffected by the other makes. Maybe their back log will drop, but until they can not sell every car they make I do not see...

    Any Superformance GT40s Out Yet?

One person I spoke with at SAAC in Mich (July 04) had placed an order just prior for a SPF. I believe he said the deposite at that time was only 5k - 10k. So it would appear they have been accepting orders for over 1.5 years. He ended up going another route as posted on this site earlier this...

I noticed when I received all of the dyno data printouts from KC some runs went down lower in RPM. Have you received all of the data?

Mine is a milder hyd. roller. Cam is a Trick Flow hyd roller, TFS-51402002 Description from their site (note the description is more accurate if installed in a 302 not 427. Mine definately does not have a rough idle): Rough idle, strong top-end power. 3,000 to 3,500 rpm stall...

Wish we had data for Sandy at lower RPM to fill in the curves, etc. Now the interesting question (for me anyway) is: To a first order can the wheels tell the difference?

You need to click on the "Attachment" word on the top of the post to get reasonable pictures. Now if we take the tranaxle gearing that I have and make it shorter by increasing the final drive from 3.22 to 3.96. One might want to do this because of the lower tq and higher RPM capability of...
