Oil Cooler install

CAV GT with FRP crate 302/345. has anyone installed an oil cooler upgrade? I'm surprised to see none installed. Is it not necessary for this engine? I see a kit for the Tornado (UK) that looks compatible for around $450.
Sugestions?

Thanks
Ray

I am just finishing an oil cooler install on my CAV, I used a Canton billet adaptor and Earls 10X12 cooler and Earls thermostat. I mounted it at the left rear, in front of the hinge point for the rear deck. If you e-mail me at [email protected] I will send you some pics. I think it is necessary, on the street the oil temp is fine but when I had the car on the track oil temp went to almost 300 immediately.

Thanks, David.

I'd appreciate pix so EMail sent. The guys at Tornado said their kit mounts just inside of the scoop, but $450 is a bit steep. I also want to install a 2 qt. Accusump for cold starts, as I suspect my car will see about 1000 miles a year.

That's an awesome install. Huge cooler! Which one is that?
Could you give us a parts list?

Thanks

I think I've finally found the oil cooler I want. I just need to ID it properly and get specs about capacity. Originally made by Harrison and designed for Continental aircraft engines. Looks almost exactly like those used in the original cars (MkIs)
They are made or rebuilt by Pacific Oil Coolers Inc.
