    SEMA

It has a 427 CI SB. Looks nice overall. Good looking suspension. I noticed the shift linkage was not connected and it had 2" ground clearance so I don't think it is a driver. I would hope it is a pre-production piece as it had some odd things about it. Some of which have been shown here...

    Mendeola transaxles

Ian did not mention specific price but hinted at $10k (said they were trying to sell it for $9k). I guess you could make them an offer and see how it goes. Still too big for 40 though.

    Mendeola transaxles

To be honest I did not think that their prices were too out of line. Boxes appear to be very strong. Their R&P's are much larger then the ZF for example. We will see what they come up with in terms of a reduced size unit. I think Ian appreciates the way we drive in the US

    17" wheel sadness

Re: 17\" wheel sadness Hi Mark. I am wondering the same thing. I was considering going for a custom wheel center in BRM where it could be used with BBS (or others) rims in a three piece arangement. It would allow the offset and width to be taylored to suit. I am guessing you could go with...

    Mendeola transaxles

Just got back. Their stuff looks great. Unfortunately the box design is very long and unuseable in a GT40. I have been encouraging them to do a shorter design. We will see how it goes. I also spoke with Ian from Mendeola to visit here.

    Electric water pump

There is a lot of useful information (flow, pressure drop, etc.) in the Ford GT technical paper concerning cooling system design. Great read. It is one of the papers in the SAE book which contains all of the Ford GT and GT40 papers.

    rear vents on original GT's

Re: rear vents on original GT\'s Good rough calcs. Will note that the engine with 100% volumetric efficiency displaces 5.0L per two revolutions. Thus for a 6000 RPM redline you would use 3000 in the calculations. Also, the ram air flow is neglecting boundary layer size (thickness) which...

    Determining Optimum Tire Size

Modern street tires have a very wide temperature range and thus the wider the better keeping the proper balance front to back. Slicks however have a much narrower temp band and the width/heating could be a consideration.

    Porsche GT3 vs GT40

Hi Ron. I am sure that the tires that were used by Buzz were high end Z rated street tires. I believe they were Mich. Pilot Sports (same as I have). They drove the same set in all competitions and between tracks with about 5000 miles on them total. His car has nice power but is not...

    Porsche GT3 vs GT40

You may not have noticed that I mentioned a standing start on the start finish line. This is a spot on the track were most cars are cooking in the 125 MPH and much higher range so I expect it made a big difference on lap one. From what I recall being there (but brain is dusty). He was running...

    Porsche GT3 vs GT40

Some interesting results from the VIR race this weekend compared to the One Lap of America full course VIR event. At the one Lap Buzz/Joel averaged a 2:14 for three laps starting from a standing start and a flying finish. Results Here They were on street tires having driven to the event and...

    Corner weights on CAV

Sorry if this sounds brief but I don't have a lot of time. A given car without modification has a fixed left side weight, right side weight, front weight and rear weight. It however does not have a fixed cross weight (sum of RF and LR divided by total). This can be adjusted by preloading each...
