The basic layout problem is that the R&P is at the back of the box not at the front by the belhousing.

    Fuel injection options

I believe you can get away with two pumps and no swirlpot if you have trap door pickups in each cell like in this thread: Buzz Clarke Fuel Cell Mods.

    Rear View Camera??

I actually ordered the monitor portion yesterday. I am going with a 7" TFT LCD with a 16:9 ratio. It has 2 video inputs and a video flip (required in the monitor or camera). The camera is now what I want to buy and was wondering if anyone found one they were happy with. I am looking for...

    Rear View Camera??

I have decided to add a roll bar mounted screen and rear view camera. I have selected the screen and am looking for a suitable camera. Anyone have something they think works great. I would wonder what viewing angle would be appropriate. Also I would think that water resistant or water proof...

    F1 Madness

It will be interesting to see how the IRL cars change for the road courses. Now they need a compromise low speed vs. high speed, etc. I am not going to the race tonight, but it would be nice to see someone take a few pics at Richmond as it is a bit slower, 0.75 mile track.

    F1 Madness

Good points. IRL may make more downforce from under body aero and not necessarily wings. Should result in more tire load though. Maybe Firestone has been giving Bridgestone pointers

    F1 Madness

[ QUOTE ] Also the IRL cars dont use that much downforce. The wings on the IRL car are almost a hindrence as they are set up flat and provide too much drag and down force at any bit of a angle.....I think any comparison btwn F1 and the IRL cars at that track does not hold any water.. F1 Madness

Back briefly to David's comments. My point of bringing up IRL was not to say the cars were the same. They are very different. But playing the safety card and saying that F1 cars may wreck and have lawsuits because of fan injuries, etc. does not hold water as heavier cars go 200 laps through...

    F1 Madness

What speed do the F1 teams run through that corner. Maybe 170 mph? They are at ~210 mph at the end of the straight. IRL runs 228 mph average for the lap (233 in 1992). I would guess IRL runs through the same turn at ~40 mph faster. They wreck. The fans have been to date safe. They...

using a Big Block vs Small Block

Any info on the Ford GT trans? Looks big and heavy to me, but I bet it can take lots of torque (Saw a writeup with a Ford GT doing 10.8 1/4 mile runs). Now that takes torque and HP considering it is over 3200 lbs.

using a Big Block vs Small Block

I think you will find for similarly configured engines (aluminum heads and intake) that the weights are not that different. As I have noted many times, take a look at the 452 CI FE here at 503 lbs: 427 FE Versus the 351 based 427W here at 467 lbs: 427W Both were measured on the...
