Andy, What is the pressure setting or your reservoir cap?? I have a Stant racing cap and it is rated 28-32 lbs. of pressure. You may need one of higher pressure,,,, or you may need an expansion tank. A lot like what is in your standard automobile. There should be a small tube on the back of your...

    Oil cooler in/out

The oil on fill or pumping would have a difficult time getting all the air out of the cooler. The top mount would insure the full area being utilized. On the negative side when changing the oil the used oil would remain in the cooler. Need to add a drain valve on the bottom of the cooler to...

    GTD40 Restoration

Andy, I would go with the thermostat or the wrong rotation. Pull the thermostat and drop it into some hot water and see if it opens. If it does then I would suspect the wrong rotation, as the cold water hitting the thermostat would snap it shut and you would get little if any flow through it...

I will redirect all the other threads from last year to here. Maybe we could get a poll going once we figure out what we can or want to do. If you have a favorite lets hear about it. Be ready to root out some information on it. Any of the manufacturers want to start some interest?? Bill

    Luggage box

Gus, Here is how they did it in the road cars. This is 1063. Can get you measurements if you like, but it will take me a week or two as I don't get up there too often. I will load some of the pics I have from the restoration that has just finished. We installed a lot of the body parts following...

    Adventures in flying

I have been looking at a lot of the RC planes(smaller ones) and how they setup their small planes for video, both watching and recording. I became interested while looking for a "non wart" approach for rear viewing camera applications. I plan on borrowing some of the ideas and systems for my own...

    GTD40 Restoration

Interesting you say that about the internal balance. The guy I gave the job to gave no indication of a problem. He is a guy with a third grade education who works out of a barn on his property. Sounds like the start of a joke, right?? Name of Charley Peppers. Has every machine and tool known to...

    GTD40 Restoration

Andy, I also went the balance route with my 351 W. I went all internal and had a 0 balance flywheel from Kennedy. Were you determined to stick with the original flywheel? Interesting to see if there are any harmonics in your setup. What is the final weight of the flywheel? I know mine is very...

Jason, What you have done is about the same as what I did with my side mirrors as well. I have actually the same mounting for the RX 7 mirrors on my 40. I did them for the widowless and window version, so that I can have them mounted no matter if I am driving in the summer or winter. Bill

Atlanta Area Road trip to see 1063 66 Road Car

I have finally gotten my car back to one piece and ready to ride. My friend in Athens Ga. has ben trying to get me up there all summer for a photo op for both cars together, but for one reason or another I haven't been able to get the car up to his place. Well he has just finished painting his...

    Original Road Car Flywheel

Dan, I don't know the answer to your question, but---------- I am going to see 1063 this weekend. I don't know if I can visualize the ring gear or not or if the owner knows the answer. I do know that he newworks with several owners and can probably find the answer for you. There are also...

    Widebody RCR40

Adam, Going to coil on plug won't necessarily steer you in one direction. I started off with COP and no distributor with the FAST system(EFI and XFI). I ran into a problem with the system that I had a month or two after we got it running(not on the road). We never figured the problem out(it...

    Looking for headers, heats sheild.

Kent, Look for a fabrication shop in your area. My shop made my stainless exhaust from a picture only. They may help you with other areas as well. My shop fabed up some new trailing arms for my car that are adjustable on the car. A giant leap from what came on mine as stock. If you have trouble...
