    Jim's RCR Lola build.

What an awesome feeling you must be having! Congrats and let us know what you think when you get her.

    Jim's RCR Lola build.

I've done plenty of work under mine with about 15" of clearance to the ground, not fun! I'd love a lift some day.

Very cool, please post some pics of the chassis!

    3B alignment settings

Thanks for the leads! My car actually came out of Mac’s shop. I do have some specs from him which are very close to what I posted above. I’ll follow up on the other lead as well. I guess part of what I’m looking for is how the setup might change for a road car with occasional light track...

    3B alignment settings

Thanks fellow Brian. Yeah, the two posts from Johan (I assume he runs a real Mk2? Not sure…) and Darren (worked on the continuation 3Bs) are good info. Ron did a lot of track time to get his ideal settings but I’m not sure how analogous they might be considering he ran modern radial tires...

    3B alignment settings

I’ve done some research on this topic and information is very scarce! Or maybe closely guarded by race teams. I’m running the period correct wheels and tires, which are the bias ply Avons on 10.5” fronts and 17” rears. My car is mostly a street/show car although I also plan to do...

    Eight Stack Air Filters

I use BBR filters on my Lola. Just had it on a dyno and tried both with and without, and they sapped about 8 HP.

Pretty cool to see all those CNC billet parts RCR uses. Have you visited the shop Jim?

Spring setup question (longer or shorter spring needed?)

Joel: do I also spy the stanceparts lift cups there? How do you like them? I am tempted to get a set but only have 1" droop available on my front shocks. It may be OK though as due to the motion ratio, its about 1.75" at the wheel.

Spring setup question (longer or shorter spring needed?)

Terry, thanks for your detailed thoughts there. Joel, can you tell me what spring spacers you are using? Are you using Hyperco helpers? (due to the dark blue). Thinking through this in steps, here's what I'm thinking (assuming a 1:1 motion ratio and zero preload to keep it easy): Option 1)...

Spring setup question (longer or shorter spring needed?)

Thanks Mike. I’ll measure when I get home but I believe I have at least an inch either way on the thread.

Spring setup question (longer or shorter spring needed?)

Guys, I'm going nuts trying to figure this out, hoping someone here can shed some clarity. I'm currently running a QA1 shock in the rear with a 8" 500lb spring. When the car is seated at the ride height I want, the shock is compressed an appropriate amount in its travel range. This shock...

Right hand drive in the USA

I have a Lola, not a GT40, but agree with the others who think RHD is a non-issue. The only annoying thing is when stopping at a light or yield sign to turn right, you have to remember to stay perpendicular to the road so you can see out your left window and see oncoming traffic.

    Avon stops production.

Chris, if you end up being able to contact him, expanding your question beyond just the CR6ZZ would be appreciated! I’m sure at least a few folks here with wide bodies run tires from their motorsport “historic” product line (i.e., bias ply racing slicks). Including yours truly ;)

    Avon stops production.

For my Lola, Hoosiers have funky sizes (too tall), so the Avons are the best fit. Dunlop also publish a size that would fit but I'm not sure if they're ever produced/stocked. Avons are also known to be high quality (long lasting, good concentricity) It SEEMS like Avon would have an OK market...

Is it worth putting in a 427 side oiler?

I'm interested in learning more about ZF power handling as I'm also considering a new motor for my ZF DS-2. This is in a Lola so it uses a Chevy, but power is power. I assume it's safer to lean towards more of a high revving continual power builder (ie, smaller displacement)? I was going to...

    T70 mk3B build up

Graham, I thought for FIA you could only run a 5.0 liter engine (ie, 305 ci max). The car looks great!

Randy, it's a bit of a drive for you, but I go to Cars and Cantina on the first Saturday of each month most months. If you see me say hi!

Jim, I was running the Kooks 14" long, 3" pipe straight through mufflers (R300-14) originally, which are the ones in the pics. I ran these for a few hundred miles. They were actually quieter than expected and not obnoxious at all volume-wise, especially at idle and...
