Bob Bonurant drives RF GT40 !!

Hersh, that is so sweet...how many of us replica owners can say they had one of the original '40 drivers help set up their car? ...one. Good thing he didn't end up on the roof like that roadster he drove in the Targa. We'll be waiting on that Kit Car issue. Please pass it on when they...

    Differences in GTD kits?

Thank you, Bud. I will print this and check the car out when I get home tonight. I may have to look into the improved cooling feature--I drove the car the day I brought her home, it was only about 65 F outside, but it was warm in the cockpit even with the a/c on...can't imagine it when it's...

So how many miles have you driven your GT40...

Yes, if I could just get the local constabulary to drive a 908 I could have a reenactment of the '69 finish, which I could then post on my cell wall after being arrested for driving without registration... [ January 28, 2003: Message edited by: snakeeyes ]

Thanks, Brian. I wondered if it was that simple, but I'm always looking for ways to outsmart myself.

    Differences in GTD kits?

I am a new GTD owner and have heard GTD's referred to as "Mk1", "MkII", and "MkIII". Sorry to show my ignorance here, but can someone explain the differences? I don't know if those represent GTD's replication of the various types of GT40's that were produced, or if they indicate production...

15 miles... I've had it for a week, it's been raining much of the time, and she's not registered yet...

Ben, I would like a set of the VIN plates and a steering wheel logo. Forgive my ignorance--how do I go about making payment via PayPal? Thanks--

Knock off conversion, need sectional drawing

While on this topic, can anyone share what the correct widths and offsets would be for a set of the PS wheels with adaptors? I am a newbie to the GT40 stuff so I have no idea-- Thanks!

Knock off conversion, need sectional drawing

Thank you, Neal. I want to switch from the Compomotives currently on my car to BRM's ultimately, although I'm not in a position to do so yet. I'm gathering all the info I can and appreciate your response--

    RF GT40 Build Update

Gordon, believe me, after reading about how helpful you Arizona guys are, I wish I lived out there. Between your skills and Hersh's, not to mention people like Neal Jackson who build cars from scratch, the Lister probably would have been on the road an hour or two after I had it delivered--

    Goodwood Video

The video of the 2002 Goodwood Revival Meeting is now available from Goodwood. In past years this meet has been televised on Speedvision in the USA, but since the switchover to Speed Channel they apparently dropped it, as I don't believe the 2002 event was aired. Anyhow, a 2 hour 45 minute...

    RF GT40 Build Update

It's nice to see the lengths some folks are willing to go to help somebody else realize a dream. I have been trying to finish my Beck Lister for some months now. I don't trust my mechanical abilities on some of the more crucial stuff, so I am bound by the schedules of a couple of friends who...

Marco, I have a friend who owns FIVE KTM's--he just bought three new ones at Christmas. Those are tremendous bikes! My "dirt bike" has little value except sentimental--it was owned by one of my college roommates, and I learned to ride on it. A couple of years ago I mentioned to him that I was...

Knock off conversion, need sectional drawing

Neal, do you have any idea what the cost of a set of 15" BRMs, with adapters, spinners, etc. would run from PS? Also, do you have a phone number for them? I have searched the Net but can't find any contact info-- Thanks!

    GT40 Experts

I'm sure Ford will be dismayed to learn that their Le Mans winner was actually Chevy-powered. They sure pulled the wool over the eyes of the cheering crowd in the picture, as well--bet they didn't know they were looking at a replica!

Thanks for the comments, guys. I really like the snorkel scoops, as well, although I guess they are not strictly correct for a Mk1 replica. I have seen at least one real Mk1 GT with them, but I wonder when they were added. Regardless, I think they look neat, and add to the car's mystique...
