    Seattle Active Power GT40 - A Father/Son build

Big step forward...Took delivery Friday night!! My family was down in AZ on vacation w/ my in-laws, so I spent 99% of my waking hours in the garage; was tempted to sleep in it! A few notes: -Car showed up in good condition (maybe I’m paranoid, but I was worried it’d get damaged during...

    Seattle Active Power GT40 - A Father/Son build

Boxes continue to arrive…and my bank accounts continues to wither away. Latest Item is the Painless “Track Rocker” 8 Relay/Fuse kit. The Engine has it’s own wire harness that includes the ECU, sensors, and fuse box (fuel relay, Radiator Fan relay/switch,…). So this Painless harness is for...

Steve’s Active Power GEN II Coyote GT40

I assume you saw what Chris did on his Coyote build. I assume he had to use a "cobra elbow" to make that tight bend between the intake manifold & passenger bulkhead....but the intake filter is pulling from the fresh air, assuming there's some shroud that prevents it from picking up the hot...

Steve’s Active Power GEN II Coyote GT40

Yeah, that was my 1st thought...main problem is where to stick the intake filter as it would need to take a quick 90 degree bend to stay above the engine shroud. I attached a pic of another GT40...the general layout seems to require ITBs, or run the intake to another area for fresh air like...

Steve’s Active Power GEN II Coyote GT40

I was looking at a similar Intake Manifold (Carb style, large central inlet)...but was thinking I'd mount the Throttle-body directly to it, then a 90 degree bend, MAF & then ~6" intake pipe; from all of the pictures, there's not a lot of space, and I didn't want to cut the engine shroud (FG...

    Seattle Active Power GT40 - A Father/Son build

Chris @ Active has been great to work with on the cage....here's some details: 1) Front & Rear Roll Hoops 2) Rear Roll Hoop has diagonal bars going aft to the structure 3) The Front & Rear Hoop are connected by 2 central bars, that are tucked underneath the roof (inboard of the doors, so that...

    Seattle Active Power GT40 - A Father/Son build

Ian - understood...we deliberated long and hard on the engine... 1) We have no plans to sell any time soon, so we were less worried about the resale impact. 2) It's a replica, w/ a corvette suspension to boot...so the LS3 kinda fits! 3) The LS3 power/weight/size/reliability/cost is so...

Fabricated a Shifter Tower for Active Power GT40

Steve - Where are you located? I have a simple Miller MIG unit, but also have the Aluminum Spool gun. If you're near Seattle, I can weld it for you (or loan you the welder) I just bought an Active GT40...waiting a the few months before it'll be ready.

    Inverted 997 tranny oil level

Are some just flipping the 996/997 transaxle without adding an external oil pump? If so, has this been shown to be reliable? Any difference if you plan to run the GT40 on the track? Thanks1
