    Tony's GT40 Mk1 build

Tony, I just joined your discussion group. One suggestion that I would like to make - put in a full roll cage - these cars are low and the added protection would help. You seem to have the rear portion of the cage but nothing in the front of the cabin! John

    Strange Gas leak - KVA

Guys, I think I've solved the riddle of the strange gas leak - actually the answer was provided within 24 hours be Steven who goes by the moniker of Stevenx40. He suggested that the "carb bowl floats sticking after sitting over winter" may have caused the carb to overflow. A critical...

    Strange Gas leak - KVA

Ian, My setup has a fuel filter after the gas tank-> to fuel pump->red inline device with a one way arrow on it -> tee splitting the line -> carb. I assume that this red inline devices is the "non return" device or valve that you're referring to. What you're suggesting is that this "non...

    Strange Gas leak - KVA

Guys, If the bladder or aluminum side tank had a leak, wouldn't I see some leakage under the side tank? I've checked these thoroughly and there no leak under the side tanks - I've been monitoring them daily for leaks. John

    Strange Gas leak - KVA

I had a strange gas leak several days ago. I decided to take my baby (a KVA GT40) out for a spin as she had been sitting in the garage all winter. As I backed out of the garage I noticed a stream of fluid coming from under the car – later I recognized that it was gasoline. I followed my usual...

    GT40 Kellison

Loren. If you decide to make the leap, make sure the body mounts perfectly on the frame. The one that I had was originally designed I believe to be mounted on a volkswagon frame. Also, make sure you have all the parts such as windshield, back window, doors, etc - these can be almost...

    Help Identify Replica GT40

Looks like a Kelison but it could be a KVA - mine is a KVA. Does the engine mount in the back requiring a transaxle? I hope you can get it at a good price. Make sure it has all the frame and suspension components! John

    CAV clutch issue

Gents, I have a similar problem except my transaxle is a 930 Porsche. I've replaced the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder, bled the system several and still have the problem with reverse! John

    930 Clutch Disengagement Issue

Re: 930 transaxle Guys, What is puzzling is that I'm using the same brackets that were on there before - the slave cylinder is from a Jaquar XKE V12. I did have to replace the clutch master cylinder from a swing model to a floor mounted pedal master cylinder as no other one would fit in the...

    930 Clutch Disengagement Issue

Steve, My hydraulic clutch slave cylinder went up on my 930 - I've replaced it but the clutch is not fully disengaging. Do you know how far the clutch release fork must travel to fully disengage the clutch - mine is moving about 1.5 inches! Thanks John

Hydralic Clutch Problem - Porsche 930

Terry: 1) Can you move the arm (by hand) the same distance without the assistance of the slave cylinder (to verify there is a large resistance and that most likely is the diaphram being pushed) - No 2) Did the clutch stop working suddenly and completely, or was there a gradual...
