    Cooling Pipes

In the U.S. we have conduit benders that are pretty cheap and available at the local hardware shop. Depending on the material you are using for the tubes, that might work well. If your wall thickness is too small for a smooth bend, try filling the tube with water, then freeze the water. That...

    timing pointer question

Just find TDC and mark your ballencer accordingly. That's what I'm doing for my front engine application.

Wiring/Wire connector kit? Sources for one.....

There are three good choices that I am aware of. The GM weatherpack. It's convenient because replacements are as near as your local Chevy dealer and they are almost weatherproof. There is a connector called metripac, I think it is a metric version of the weatherpack. Lastly, there is another...

    Manifold Vacuum

There is a good chance that I'm wrong, but here is my guess. You want your computer to measure the pressure that your engine actually sees, IAC and all, so your MAP port should be the closest to the cylinder head. Your fuel pressure regulator vacuum reference really does not matter. It just...

    Stroker 347 Engine

I know a guy that bought a CHP 347 and it proceded to destroy it's own crank. I don't know if it was an instalation error, or a problam with the Chinese crank that CHP used. This, together with several other stories have convinced me that the only way to make sure your engine is properly built...

    Cammer engine?

Why stop at $20,000? Just get a GT for $200,000 +/- $50,000. There is more than one way to skin a cat. And I bet the 3V 4.6 crate motors will be pretty cheap, probably less than $5,000 (possibly with computer, harness and transmission like the $7,000 '01 Cobra crate engine).

    Cammer engine?

There are cams and some companies that will port 4V heads, but the most popular speed part for serious power is a supercharger. Lynn is right, the 3V is going to be huge. Motor trend did a road test of the 05 mustang with the 3V 4.6 and it did 5.1 seconds 0-60. The heavier 300hp 05 mustang is...

    My Jesel Saga

I was asking about the "EFI" valve covers. Lynn and I both have the Roush intake. It's a great looking piece of automotive jewlery and is really a system. It comes with everything and is a complete bolt on, except if your engine isn't a stock '94-95 Mustang GT which has low profile...

    Cammer engine?

Isn't the RF available with a 4.6? If it has enough clearance for the DOHC heads, the cammer should physically bolt in, but there might be some interference with the intake manifold. Or else, you could go to your Ford dealership and get a new Ford GT with the mother of all cammer engines...

    My Jesel Saga

Do you mean the stamped steel '94 mustang style valve covers or the '93 die cast aluminum valve covers? Also, do the AFR's have a raised valve cover mounting surface?

    My Jesel Saga

Congradulations Lynn. I guess this proves that the squeaky wheel does get the grease. So how do the fit? What's the valve cover and intake clearance like?

    Flat Cranks

Once you have a flat crank, you no longer need a 180 degree exhaust, because the firing order is lined up on both sides. You will need a different cam for that firing order, and the distributor wiring will need to change. It's essentially the same as two 4 cylinders joined at the crank. I...

    Lifter Pros/Cons

Flat tappet: Good for high rmp but noisy, if it's too agressive, it might eat a lobe. Hydraulic flat tappet: Pretty good rpm, quiet, if it's too agressive, it might eat a lobe. Solid roller: Extreemly good for high rpm, may need very stiff valve springs, the needle bearings in the rollers...

    Transaxle strength

I wonder if any one has looked in to the transmission they are using for the IRL race series. I know that they will bolt to a Olds Aroura/Cadilac Northstar V8. They are designed to last multiple seasons of racing. If the ground clearance would work, I think that might be a good choice.

    302 - SVO re-build

I did this calculation a while ago. It's actually: .480"/1.6=.300" lobe lift .300"*1.7=.510" valve lift with 1.7-1 rockers. But, yes, the B cam is a good place to start if you don't have emissions tests. If you need to pass smog, the E303 might be better and the extra lift with 1.7's...

    Water pumps again

You are using V belts right? I think you need to measure how much the groove needs to be offset from the water pump flange, and what diameter you need. After you have those two dimensions, you can have a pulley made, or hunt for one that is close. If you find a good pulley with more offset...
