    Brake calipers for 15" rims

Can anyone confirm what the current brake disc size, caliper type and mounting style are being used on GT40 replicas? My assumption is that they will be the same front and rear ..... although I may well be wrong in some cases. Of particular interest are the Wilwood types being used.

    Southern GT #48

The Malpassi 85mm V8 regulator is rated up to 350 bhp. Above that there's an alternative metal element available. Major downside is the 8 micron vs 55 micron filtration capability. It would be great of you to run the flow test though Eddy as my plan is also to use twin Red Top pumps with paired...

This is the company that made it I believe : https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Automotive-Body-Shop/Parc-Ferme-Bespoke-Automotive-Furniture-294079514052309/ Don't think they're still in existence though but could be wrong.

    Anti-roll bar loadings

I would agree that any final setup would need to be the result of on track testing. At this stage my target was to understand whether, in a general sense, the potential expected loads put through the drop links would be in excess of what the supplied spherical rod ends would cope with. With the...

    Anti-roll bar loadings

"Just an old amateur" Yikes I dread to think what that makes me then! Can we at least add the word "gifted"? Your descriptive effort Frank makes perfect sense. If the car was going to be a track only (and smooth track at that) car then the bar would doubtless be designed for load...

    Anti-roll bar loadings

Wow! Loads of sensible comment. Damn glad I'm not trying to design any anti-roll bars. I guess by trying to ask the question in a very basic fashion I managed to not give a clear indication of intent. The piece of information I'm chasing is ultimately about the drop link end connections. My...

    Anti-roll bar loadings

Calling GT40 suspension gurus! With the GT40 being a mid-engine configuration and with weight biased towards the back end does that mean that loads put into the anti-roll bar is greater for the rear than front? Any clues on the percentage disparity front-to-rear?

    Tires for 15”x14” rim??

For road legal tyres (UK only) you're stuck with Avon 295/50x15's. They'll just about stretch to a 12" wide rim but never a 14" wide. The Countach 345/35 size probably will fit the 14" wide but you get a diameter reduction of about 50mm which may cause a few issues. Other option would be to...

    ReCreated FAV Prints

I know they're a completely different animal but still very curious as to their true DNA. As I'm never likely to own one or be able to see the inner workings of the beast then to satisfy curiosity the only way is to see the drawings and then inwardly digest the American Le Man mindset.

    ReCreated FAV Prints

Anyone got a full set of plans (or any plans at all) for the Mk.IV GT40? I'd love to be able to see just how different that is to the the earlier cars.

    Southern GT #48

Now this might be an optical illusion caused by camera angles but it looks like the long engine mounting bolt centre is about halfway between the top and bottom of the bracket. The brackets I've got have this pin very biased towards the top. Overall bracket height of mine is 243mm and the engine...

    Southern GT #48

Any chance you've got the SGT mounts upside down? It's easily done  Single spare should be at the top I believe. When I trial fitted bits on the bare chassis I got it wrong. I also had to dremel away at one of the SGT gearbox mounts as it fouled on the casing slightly. Can't remember which...

Reference SGT Build Log / Manual

Build manual for a SGT  Where's your sense of adventure? If I'd had one of those then I wouldn't have needed to learn how to drill out rivets. A very valuable skill set is drilling out rivets ..... again

    Southern GT #48

I discussed this with Mick when I got my panel set and realised nothing was included. He said exactly the same thing. They were fitted right at the beginning (I've an image from the SGT website showing them) but I guess experience gained precipitated their deletion. My car will have them as a...

Un1 input shaft - is it normal to be removed

I've got a pair of freshly rebuilt (by Chris Cole) UN1 gearboxes that have done 0 miles since rebuilt and although you can tell the input shaft isn't rigid - it has a small amount of side to side movement in all radial directions - it can't be pulled in or out at all. They are both standard...
