    Monterey 2012

I am interested in going and would love to see you all there. Any suggestions on a room? I am making this decision pretty late in the game. I would be driving the GT up from San Diego and Lance would probably let me park with SPF. The Cantina on Thursday is a must, always a good time. Dave

    New race car

I have not updated this build in quite a while, but many good things have happened. The car is on it's wheels and for the last few months has been at Areo Tech getting new fuel cells made, I am picking it up tomorrow and will be able to move it along all the way thru paint now that this has...

Urgent help needed SPF coolant leak

My car did the same thing when it sat outside at a car show, it quit leaking as soon as it warmed up and I was able to get it home, 100 miles. Dave

    Naked Mk 1V

The Thompson cars are amazing! I am surprised at the market for what is obviously a very expensive replica. I don't think that there were that many real "J" cars built, does anyone know the actual number? Dave

    SPF GT40 Genesis

Do you mean to tell me that my $80,000 SPF roller is not an exact copy of a multi million dollar FAV GT40? What is the world coming to? Who gives a rats ass? The car is unlike any else I could ever afford to drive. Even a hugely expensive Holman & Moody car will not be a 60's race veteran and...

    oh......

    I'm tired.

My differences with the Citicorp wonk is not with his view about what is happening in the World, but with his idea that we just need to accept the change in status and die quietly. Many other countries control their borders and have certain standards for immigration and many do not continence...

    I'm tired.

Jim It is obvious that we all thrilled to death to be able to work forever! Even with all of our faults the U.S. is still the Gold Standard for most of the world, few other countries offer the opportunity for personal success that is available here. But anybody who thinks that we are not in...

    SPF GT40 Genesis

How authentic the SPF is will be debated forever but it is an excellent car, the build quality is very good, with useful mods to make it streetable. It is mostly ready to go out of the box, requiring very little fiddling or re-engineering,to be driveable and has correct and very strong...

    I'm tired.

Jim, and your point is? Does his personal history and accomplishments make him wrong in this case? Dave

    CAV Stub axels

CAV took the old GTD and upgraded it. The set up will work well if you have good parts. The inner hub bearing is from a 5 Series BMW. My stub axles are the same as what is used in Trophy Trucks, the best you can do with the existing set up from CAV. The other option might be Corvette uprights...

    Which watch do you wear?

Rolex gold and stainless Datejust, I bought it 27 years ago when when my commission checks as a Mortgage Loan Officer first exceeded my earnings as a Dealership Mechanic. The Rolex is a machine, it is not battery or solar powered and I love machinery. I would like to add a GMT or a SS Submariner...

    CAV Stub axels

Hi Jimmy, I will post some pictures when I can find them! So far I have fitted 2 CAV's, both with 427 Windsors w 500+ HP and they are working fine. One of those cars sheared 2 sets of CAV factory (Race) axles, the other car I installed them during the build. Dave

Smell of Gas Fumes in cabin

CAV has a over fill hose under the gas cap that is supposed to exit underneath the car, sometimes that hose exits into the sponson and fuel get under the fuel tanks. There is an access panel inside the wheel well that will allow you to check that. Dave

    CAV Stub axels

Hi Dave, the CAV axles are made just for those cars. Many CAV's have suffered failures of the stub axle and or CV's. I can supply a custom stub axle that is made out of much better material and is properly heat treated. If your car has the 90mm one piece stub axle and CV then you will need to...

    Am I too tall ?

Thanks Jim, I ordered that car over the internet after I crashed the CAV and really did not know what it would look like in the flesh. But I was not disappointed! The GT40 fortunately has a shape that would look great painted olive drab, we are very fortunate to have these cars. Dave
