    Detachable steering wheel

Any racing supply house can help you out, you will need to pull the shaft out of the steering column and weld the adapter onto the shaft. If you buy the kind of adapter that bolts on the splined end of the shaft you will find that it moves the steering wheel too far back. Dave

    Tilton Carbon Clutch

I am running a Mcleod dual disc set up on a smaller flywheel and it works great, very smooth engagement. I did centralize the bellhousing and there are 6 mounting points on the SPF. Hp is only 450 but they run this same set up behind much more engine then I have. Dave

If you have a pedal ratio of 4 1/2 to one and size the M/C appropriately you won't need a booster.

Question about how ZF transaxles are mounted

I had some concerns initially because the whole assembly is the same weight as just the flywheel on my old setup and a lot of dual disc clutches seem to chatter. But it all works very well, the clutch is very smooth and the car is so light that the smaller flywheel/clutch assembly still...

Cable shift or shaft shift on a ZF?

I have had both on the same ZF, the cable shift in the SPF(with some improvements) is a lot better than the rod set up that was in my CAV, but there are several people on the Forum who make an improved rod set up for the CAV that works well, Ian at CAV Canada for one. Dave

Surely you must have a Honda (or some other jelly bean car) that you can take to the mall! I think that anybody who did that to a 40 would probably be banned from the Forum for Life!

Question about how ZF transaxles are mounted

Safir makes a version of the original GT40 bellhousing that has those mounting ears. It is designed to work with a -2 ZF/RBT and a 6 bolt 302 block. It comes w/a small flywheel and a McLeod dual disc clutch. I have that set up on my SPF and it works very well. I used a Mcleod hydraulic t/o...

Should NATO continue to be involved in Afghanistan?

I don't think that our Military has a clear mission in Afganistan. Our purpose was clear in 2001 and we went in and rid Afganistan of Al Queda but the idea that we have to stay and prevent another Regime change is not working out. If the Afgani's don't like the Taliban they can toss them out...

    manifold vacuum and brakes

Toss the brake booster, get a slightly smaller diameter Master Cylinder or better yet install a Tilton dual brake cylinder pedal assembly, as a bonus you will have lighter clutch action as the ratio on the clutch pedal is correct. Dave

T&L Engines Quality Control??? - BEWARE!

There seems to be no end to this, the few times I have spoken to Lloyd he always promises to get back to me but never does. I am in California and Bruce Benson ( engine #2302 on order since may 09) is in New Mexico. Is there anyone on the forum, who lives close enough to T & L, that could...
