    John's RCR build

Sandy Basically I followed Frans on line build manual for the front sway bars (don't think he has written up rear yet) I will publish more pics tomorrow so that you can see what I've done different to Fran. However dimensionally have followed Frans instructions exactly. As you will see it...

    Brake reservoir size

Sandy Thanks. Could you post dimensions for the CNC triple (1483) so I can engineer the fit (width, width including mounting bracket, height and depth)? Many thanks John

    John's RCR build

Steady (actually very steady) progress. Pass through hole made in lower dash crossmember and rubber edged to prevent any chafing Evaporator fitted and all pipes connected to bulkhead pass-through fittings as per Chuck and Ryan. Sway bar mounted through mono with 1" oil seal rings held in place...

    Brake reservoir size

Sandy In the end I couldn't resist the CNC 1483's so the Girling will be binned. I will use the level senser from it and buy another senser for the F & R chambers. More work, but as you say they do look good. Best John

    John's RCR build

Arrival day. Figured out how to download pics easier than before so lets play catch up (some of this is out of sequence with my first post but what the heck:cool:). Delivery (tight fit, steep drive down to the garage and not to much clearance for width) Happily delivery guy was excellent...

    Brake reservoir size

Sandy Now I'm retired I tend to think differently about how I spend the kids inheritance, something along the lines of "do it now 'cause then your dead" just about sums it up. Hence the Tilton 900s which look even better in the metal than in the pics. I would be prepared to re-think only my...

    Brake reservoir size

Thanks to all. Much as I like the ally ones I have purchased a dual chamber Girling which has a built in level indicator and is SVA compliant and is overkill on the fluid volume. The RCR suggestion would not work as I am fitting a Tilton 900 pedal box Tilton Engineering - Brake, Pedal...

    Brake reservoir size

Hi RCR GT40 build is progressing well, when I figure out how to downsize pics I will post some details. In the meantime I am working out precise location and fit of remote reservoirs. Trawling through the site they seem to come in a variety of shapes and sizes. So am I right in calculating...

    Help!

Hi Emma It was a highly successful race car in period (mid 60s) At the time of its conception it was state of the art engineering Whilst I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder I think the Mk1 is the best looking mid engined car ever. The stance and overall balance of the design is just...

    John's RCR build

Here we go with my RCR40 MK1 with 2" flares. I've pushed off, the slope is steep (inverse of the learning curve I face) and I got no brakes:laugh:. Main reason for posting the build here is that I don't want to let the side down by not maintaining the high standards of the many other excellent...

    Its under way

Simon Not exactly sure, certainly less than three weeks. Patrick of Southern Cross does a great job handling the transport and the guy with the low loader who delivered to my door could'nt have been more helpfull (He had quite a job because of the steepness of my drive). John
