Buyer beware when buying a used Ford GT.

Having put about 7500 miles on a GT - in my opinion it is one of the easiest high performance cars to drive. It's almost as docile as a minivan if you want it to be. Stomp on it and it's an animal. No handling problems at all. I've run about 2,000 hard track miles without so much as a a wiggle...

    Newbie/ Wanna Bie !!

Patrick, Welcome! I am lucky to own a Ford GT and a CAV GT40. Both great cars but they are very different – but I love each of them for their own special merits. The GT40 is a great car, beautifully done but really is a re-creation of 1960’s design and technology. I’m sure the fit and finish...

Poll: Would You Swap Your '40 for a Ford GT?

Now that's a very tough question. Both cars have individual personalities and should be viewed for what they are. Both excellent in what they represent. Different yes, but not one better than the other. I'm lucky enough to own a GT (Gulf, of course) and soon will take delivery of a CAV GT40. A...

    Replica GT40 racing in Japan?

Reply I was at the GT rally last week and a fellow from New Zeeland told me that the car was a "tube frame" racer with a GT body. Not thought of too highly I was told. Gordo.

Chuck, I just got back too. I prefer the cold to this 98 degree heat and humidity right now. I have a house in Betty's Bay - 1 hour east of Cape Town. The CAV will stay in the Cape for when I visit. The Ford GT (Gulf) does the trick when in SC. Gordo.
