    McCopy mk 5

I'll add my two cents, which may actually be worth considerably less but...unless you can ID a builder with a great pedigree who is offering a new system as a loss leader, you're going to get what you paid for. The market has matured enough that there aren't too many outliers in quality/cost...

    SLC noise

has anyone tried using a johnny joint or something like these? - https://www.spohn.net/shop/Del-Sphere-Pivot-Joints/ The off road guys apparently use them in multilink set-ups in place of rod ends. I'd like to incorporate these into a few of the pivots of my street car as they can move in...

Collector car insurance - any good suggestions?

no direct experience, but I've heard decent things about Leland West

    Rear spring rate Rover V8

I'm sure you've seen the info about ride frequency to suit the application. Assuming 120Lb/in is the right rate for your car, I'm guessing the current damper is going to be too stiff for the new springs.

The rim is scratched due to the sidewalk

^ no rust, it's aluminum. A refinisher will machine off the offending area at rim edge, likely sand area further inboard, and then paint it. I've had a wheel with less damage repaired, and unless you knew to look for the machined edge, you wouldn't know it was repaired.

Looking for half shaft axles for my Advanced Automotion 01E with 108mm Porsche 930 output flanges

I'd want to decide what upright I am using before getting too far down the track, as it will determine the inner pivot point locations, as well as the CV joint location. No point to going through a ton of steps only to discover that you end up with totally jacked mounting points, or roll...

Is the center of a car body ALWAYS the center of the chassis?

As you've discovered, geometric center of the body does not necessarily coincide with center of the chassis. As above, designers contended with packaging mass items (engine, trans, driver) in the chassis, and try to establish good weight distribution. Driver position dictates where the visual...

    NYS inspection question

I did this last December in NY. Had to trailer car to a DMV facility in the Bronx, where they inspected paper work/receipts and chassis plate to ensure that nothing in it was stolen. Most of the cars there for inspection were salvage rebuilds I think. Not a safety inspection in any way, though...

    Saudi Arabian GP

I don't have a dog in the fight, but the way this all happened leaves a pretty bad taste in my mouth. The prior round red flag, to me, was pretty marginal, as the barriers were displaced so little. That gave RB a free tire change, to the disadvantage of Merc. Despite that, Merc won. Luck is...

    Saudi Arabian GP

I think the stewards need to have a very serious meeting among themselves to work out some of the possible permutations (entirely missing the corner and taking another driver into a wall, etc) and determine an appropriate response. Then convey that very clearly to both driver and their managers...

    Saudi Arabian GP

No question that he braked. Question is whether he meant to cause a wreck, or was just frustrated that H wouldn't pass him before the DRS detection zone. The whole situation was a cluster F, with lack of notice to H.

    Covid19 vaccine- report your progress

not sure if I had a reaction to the booster, or if I got sick separately 2 days after the Pfizer jab. But for a day or two, I felt like crap.

    Saudi Arabian GP

^ the stewards are going to be totally on the spot for the final round. They have been reluctant in the past to make calls that radically change the outcome of a race (I'm not any kind of authority on their powers). But I'm anticipating that unless Hami has pace and position advantage, there is...

    Saudi Arabian GP

^ Spot on. We've seen M Schumacher do it twice, and Verstappen is among the most ruthless of all drivers. I"m not a Hamilton fan boy, but it's only because of his presence of mind and forbearance that there haven't been more collisions. I can only hope that Bottas qualifies and races well enough...

    storage wheels

by dumb luck I found these - https://www.autobodytoolmart.com/product/guniwheel-56/car-dollies?utm_source=feed&utm_medium=free&utm_campaign=shopping&p=6DL1221&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIn5G_2qrN9AIVCLbICh3q5Ag5EAQYASABEgL2h_D_BwE But using 3/4" plywood might be most reasonable solution

    storage wheels

Gents, I'm interested in finding a set of those narrow wheels mounted to the car when it is in storage/shop where you don't want to flat spot the "race" tires/wheels. What are they called? My car sits in an unheated garage, and R compound tires are not supposed to be stored below 20 degrees...

    Strongest transaxles

are you running drag slicks? If not, the tires will light up way before you reach full throttle in first and second gear, probably also third. Talk to CMS and BMC&G about doing a Porsche G50-50 or G96-96/97, probably a $15-17K box (though I haven't checked that).

The curse of ethanol - Part deux.

I already bit the bullet and replaced all my fuel lines with teflon. But this is a good program you've put together for any older car where you are unsure about exposure to ethanol.
