    Adjusting SPF wheel bearings.

Kelly, Check 2 more things: coil spring touching the tub? heim joint wear or control arm to tub loose(check by rocking the wheel @ 11 and 5 not 12 and 6 like checking wheel bearings). I think it could be this. Steve P2125

Hose weepage from brake and clutch fluid cannisters

Alan, I'll get the PN's of fittings and hose. As I recall hose was Goodrich (think I still have in the trash bin) Will, Took a few yrs to begin "weeping" but, I'm sure the PTFE teflon AN4 brake lines I'm using won't. Special hose I upgraded my SPF Cobra was supposed to not weep but, it wept...

Hose weepage from brake and clutch fluid cannisters

Got fed up with the weepage through the rubber hoses so took everything apart. Used 2 Girling cannisters (7 oz for brakes and 5 oz for clutch). Opened the holes in original cover plate, used "O" rings top and bottom of the plate and "The Right Stuff" to glue/seal the cannisters and "O" rings...

    SPF GT40 Genesis

Alan, Need to be careful regarding your: "Then, a mitigating factor is that the T44 sits ~1/2" lower (relative to the mounting ears) than a ZF, which would have the effect of pivoting the engine back about the motor mounts. With a distributor about the same distance above the motor mounts...

    Adjusting SPF wheel bearings.

Kelly, When P2125 was new I had something like you describe. Turned out I needed friction modifier; once added the noise went away. I have since changed the gear oil (didn't add any additional modifier) and no noise. Steve P2125

    SPF GT40 Genesis

Alan, Look again at pic of my T44 RBT cover and will confirm what you have found; that the SPF MKII seems to be set up for an original power train install (except for using a bigger bulge on the firewall bump out as I did). Steve P2125

    SPF GT40 Genesis

Alan, Engine position of my engine (1'st pic in your post above) is same as the pic of the "original". My # 5 boot at the dizzy alllows rotation of the dizzy (for timing adjust) but, is only 1/8" away from the shoulder belt rail and is heightwise same as the original. The top of the boots...

    SPF GT40 Genesis

Alan, From your post above looks like you are going with a T44. Are you going all the way with original front cover, dry sump, original oil pump, bell housing and clutch? If so have you sourced them yet? If not ERA might be able to help you as they have built up at least one that I know...

    SPF GT40 Genesis

Alan, See pic of "T44 look alike" we cast/machined for P2125 next to RBT The T44 like cover has exact same mounted height but, more meat/stiffining ribs like T44 AND no need for spacer. Steve P2125

    SPF GT40 Genesis

Alan, To your post above. "Hence the two inches of aluminum spacer between the hoop and the ZF ears, which leads to a rather precarious looking transaxle mounting" Note what we did to P2125 (see in SPF Forum page 4 under "Upgrades/options/mods to P2125 page 1) Custom ZF top cover was...

Master cylinder to supply hose fitting?

Anyone know the size of the threads used on the hose fitting (male thread to barb) on our master cylinder supply lines. Is it 1/8 NPT? I want to change over the remote resevoirs from the cans to Girling's plastic cannisters and AN4 braided PTFE hoses. Are the fittings I need 1/8NPT male to...

    Monocoque side sill attachment

Hi Doc, FWIW (and as compared to yours my SPF is not as accurate) the SPF has spot welds as yours in the rear section but, the sills are attached to the floorpan with allen head screws/bolts (makes for easy removal for cleaning). Steve P2125
