Rob The switches are fine as long as they are within 127mm of the edge of the steering wheel. As regards insurance not sure and would invite anyone to comment, I will probably leave them where they are anyway. Mick assures me that the exhaust will pass ISVA and that's good enough for me...

Phil The pipes and 99db silencers will be cermachromed (think its spelt correctly) by a local company in Warrington. I think the pipe sizing is something you should discuss with your engine builder as each engine will react differently dependant on capacity, cam, compression ratio etc etc. I am...

Hi Paul The build has all of a sudden come together. The next big job is the wiring which I am dreading. Going to do some work at the front today and try to finish the plumbing. I will crimp all the aircon pipes next week and make a start on the dash, then I am pretty much done. I will probably...

Hi Brett This is Mick's standard pattern although I have had the pipe size reduced to 1" 5/8th as it produced another 35bhp over 1"3/4 on the dyno. Mick has continued to develop his exhaust system and mine is in mild steel although he has a stainless system on a customers car (pictured) which...

Managed to hang the suspension on the near side and fitted the exhaust which I have just received from Mick Sollis. Also on with a few other small jobs including the hot water pipes for the heater system, plumbing for the engine and just the small job of the wiring.

I was at Road America and have some shots of Kenny's chassis. I was under the impression talking to the guys with the red car that it was a replica?

Thanks for the encouragement Garry its certainly needed. I have bled the clutch which took some time as it had air trapped in the slave cylinder but it works fine now. I have ordered some bits for the instruments today which I can start fitting into the dash panel soon. I will final fit the gear...

Hi all. Progress is slow as I have recently visited Road America and not been very well, but that's a different story. I have fitted the rod gear change, connected the steering, fitted in the air conditioning dash unit and pipe work, which just need crimping to finish. Today I fitted the...

Andy Brilliant tool and you have set my mind at ease. I will be fitting under the dash in my car some sort of shield, ie some under dash covering from a production car as an extra safety measure. Regards Martin.

Andy If you are using plumbing fittings make sure that you have a raised swage in the pipe to stop the rubber pipe slipping off when under pressure. It has been known for these pipes to come off and scald the occupants inside the cabin. Regards Martin.

    Transaxles made for Kit Cars

Designing, building and testing a new transaxle is no easy job. When we started the ZFQ project a number of existing manufacturers we asked would not even attempt a new design. Transaxles are inherently difficult to get right but Quaife were more than happy to take on the project. Since then we...
