    front dress/ water pump pulley

I'm with you Bob. Been trying to figure that one out myself. I like to vintage look of the stamped pulley too. http://www.gt40s.com/forum/gt40-tech-engines-induction-exhaust/26666-name-pulley.html

    cooling system bleed lines ?

Bob, Forgot to mention, the line that goes to my reservoir even has a restrictor in it with a 1/8" hole drilled in it. I found that the flow going to the reservoir was quite a bit more than I wanted. Again, the goal is to carry air, not a volume of coolant.

    cooling system bleed lines ?

Bob, I'm with Jac Mac on this one.... too big and you will run coolant volume through it. And I'm always surprised what kind of volume can flow through a 3/8" line.... I ran 1/4" OD hard line. Even this flows quite a bit, but didn't want to take any chances of crap plugging in up in the future.

    RCR #010 Build Progress

Bill, Sorry to hear about your misfortune. It's a drag for sure. We've all had shake down issues, and know how frustrating it is to miss stuff. The good news is the wheel didn't brake loose and go through the body. Might I suggest what I call "silent runs" to you. When I am doing an initial...

    car getting hot, need help/ideas

Dean, With respect to the concern for air pockets.....I too had a similar scenario with my small block. The temp would be fine, then next thing I knew it would spike. It could be fine for quite a while too. The concern became most obvious while on my first dyno run for some reason. Note, I...

    Slk 55

Hi Pete, OK....got my feedback from the Motorsports guys...unfortunately it's not a Bosch system. So, I'm in the grass and heading toward the wall. First question is did you try the extended hold on the ESP button? An idea for you..... (for track use only...of course this need not be said) if...

Pete, On the phone with our motorsports engineering group and realized I haven't asked enough questions......... Damn... I hate when that happens....!! Need the details of your car. Give me whatever you can think of just to make sure I can answer any Qs that come my way. - What year -...

    Anti-Lock Brakes

Jen, For the record, I am not saying I love this technology for all applications. As mentioned, there are times when you are better off w/o it, such as deep sand, deep snow or anytime locking the wheels is desired or anytime power slip is desired. Heck 98% of the time I disable my traction...

Hi Pete, I can check and see if this is one of ours for you. It may take a few days, as I would have to start poking around with colleagues in Germany. But I'll give it a try. In the mean time, have you tried just holding down the ESP button. There are some systems that if you hold it down...

    Anti-Lock Brakes

Fran, I do agree with the vintage car having late technology, however, I also think it would be nice to flip a switch and have it if it were needed. (say...if it starts to sprinkle while on track, or maybe your running balls out to push your buddy in his yellow bumble bee 40 outa the way and...

    Rob's RCR40 Build

Howard, Sounds like your turning some good numbers, especially for a 9.2:1 motor. You can certainly be happy with those. What fuel were you running? I agree the 1HP to 1 cube is always my target too. I know I could exceed this if I wanted to with this engine, but again, built for robustness...

    Rob's RCR40 Build

Chuck, correct, am also running the IDFs. I'm running 175 mains, F11 imulsions, 180 air correctors, 55 idles. As mentioned, it is a touch on the rich side. Probably could get a couple more HPs out of it with a drop to 170 mains, but since it's not for me.....I'll keep her on the rich side. A...

    Rob's RCR40 Build

Thanks Howard. The motor is a 1967 289CID, bored 030 and stroked by using a 302 crank. Total cubes now are 306CID. The heads are custom made aluminum pieces from Livernois Motorsports (bench flow graph below). Kieth Black high dome pistons. Didn't volume the assembly, so can only speculate...

    Rob's RCR40 Build

Chuck,......I'll keep that in mind ... Finished the radiator screen yesterday. Just got back from the dyno shop. Lucked out, recent jetting changes were dead on. Sometimes you just get lucky.... Numbers: 302 BHP / 316 Ft-Lb and mixtures were good, with a hint (~1 point) to the rich...

    Jason's Coyote Powered RCR40 Downunder

Jason, Chucks comments about not permanently mounting at this point is dead on. Fran made a good suggestion the other day for this process, which was to use clear packing tape to tape the rocker down. This will permit the rockers to be moved during this "dialing in" process. Regarding your...
