New GT at Pohanka Lexus in Chantilly VA

OK, that explains it. I hadn't heard they also had a Ford dealership. Would probably explain why they also had a Porsche TT Cayanne and a few other non-Lexus high-dollar cars sitting out front.

New GT at Pohanka Lexus in Chantilly VA

Yes... that is right. I'm kind of curious myself why it is at a Lexus dealership but there it was. Red GT parked in front facing Rt 50.

    Hans Stuck racing video

Yes, that's the one (the second one on the page you linked)! Thanks! I had seen the video posted at another site and downloaded it... I went back and tried to just link it to my post above, but the link was dead... so I tried attaching the file. Too big I guess. Yes, that video gets me...

    Hans Stuck racing video

Hmmm... well, it doesn't seem like it is going to let me attach the video. I tried, but the explorer window just keeps thinking and never finishes. If you're interested, let me know how I might be able to go about posting it so it will work and I'll give it another go.

    Hans Stuck racing video

Hey all, I found this on another site and thought it was just a great video! Hans Stuck driving a beautiful course in a BMW and just tearing it up. I love the sound of straight cut gears... Video is about 8 minutes long. I've never tried attaching something here before so we'll see if it...

    RF GT40 pricing....WHAT?

WooHoo! I am still a ways off from a purchase, but I already had my heart set on an RF... looks even better now!

    Mark I or Mark II?

I like the Mark I with the single nostril front and the wider flared rear fenders! = ) Hope to have one someday...

    Wait time for ERA?

Hey Jon, where in VA are you? I am also in VA. Have you looked at the RF as a possibility as well? I've been in the very early planning stages (won't buy for a few more years yet) of a GT40 kit myself and I like the looks of the RF kit. John

    Something has me worried

I'm personally very happy to see that this post has gone as it has... there are many other forums I've frequented on which things like this always turn personal somehow. One of the reasons I enjoy this forum so much is the level of maturity. I wonder if maturity has some form of correlation...

    Procharger Centrifugal Supercharger

Yeah, the bug really bit me when I bought my 1990 Nissan 300ZX twin-turbo. Can have complete streetability, good fuel economy, and gobs of power when you need it! I know of a guy who has a pair of turbos on a small block in his '69 Camaro who is making over 900 horses, knocking down around...

    Max engine RPM

Hi Ian and welcome to the forum. When you're talking about high-rpm engines you've got the right idea. For the short block, you are probably better off with a forged rotating assembly with as lightweight of pieces as you can get... the lighter they are the easier it will be to wind it up...

    Tribute to Rick Merz

I was planning on posting in Rick's "for sale" post writing "say it ain't so?!" Alas, I couldn't post there for some reason... but I'll put it here. I had the privilege of meeting Rick last spring when I was down at the beach. His GT was in pieces as he was busy rebuilding it, but it was a...

    A new '69 camaro,, '67 mustang, '69 mustang or '70 cuda?

Re: A new \'69 camaro,, \'67 mustang, \'69 mustang or \'70 cuda? They are producing entire new shells... no kit as of yet from what I know. $12k sticker price too for the Camaro unit anyway... I hadn't heard about the Mustangs and Cuda! John

    Procharger Centrifugal Supercharger

I know a few people who have run Prochargers with great success. One guy I know of was making close to 1,000 horses on a small block Chevy V8 and knocking down around 18mpg at the same time. As everyone has said above, the packaging may be a little tricky, but it would be easier than a roots...

    solid axle rear suspensions?

Hey great posts guys! Thanks a bunch. That was very informative. Before I really dig into it on my Camaro, I was actually planning on building a little go-kart/dune buggy with a motorcycle engine and making that a test-bed for suspension design. Still a ways off, but I like to plan things in...

    solid axle rear suspensions?

That is the type of 4 link I was considering... I've heard it referred to as the "triangulated" 4 link... where the upper arms angle in. I'm not familiar with a mumford link, and I've heard of the watts link, but am not really familiar with it. Any more info on these?

    solid axle rear suspensions?

There are actually kits now to put a C4 'Vette IRS into a 67-69 Camaro and it is a popular swap. I like the idea of keeping a solid axle in the car though (since I already have one).

    solid axle rear suspensions?

The original Trans Am Camaros ran leaf springs out back. NASCAR as far as I know uses truck arms because they are required by the rules. I'm not sure if it is the best setup though... seems that on a surface with any irregularities the truck-arm is going to bind to some extent... unless you...

    solid axle rear suspensions?

Yeah, I'm a member over at Pro-Touring.com and most of the people have first gen Camaros that they are turning into G-machines. There is a lot of disagreement regarding what the best setup might be though... some people are really keen on truck arms, some like the parallel 4-bar, some the three...
