    solid axle rear suspensions?

Hey everyone. In addition to loving the GT40s, I happen to be a big fan of old muscle cars... pretty much all of which are solid live rear axle cars. In the interest of increasing cornering performance, I'm curious what you all think or know about rear suspension designs for these kinds of...

    Ultima smashes 0-100-0 record

American Speed (the engine shop that built the engine for it) has a very good reputation for building top quality Chevy small blocks. Very cool! John

where to get ARP studs & fasteners?

Re: where to get ARP studs & fasteners? Summit Racing (www.summitracing.com or 1-800-230-3030) is just a great company to deal with. They ship quickly, and have a no hassle return policy. Also, if you find lower prices elsewhere and tell them, they will beat it... even on one occassion...

A Roaring Forties with all the Options !

Are those the oil and trans coolers at the back there? For a second I thought they looked like intercoolers... perhaps for a turbo setup! John www.geocities.com/boodlefoof

    32 valve heads

Hey Tim, I've been looking at these heads for a few years. I can't afford them, but I can dream right! Anyway, I've dug around a little trying to find info and have never found anyone actually running the heads. If you do end up getting them, do report back on how they work out. I'd love to...

Nice looking (really) FiberFab on eBay

No GT, but it does look pretty slick. My main question... the rear clip doesn't appear to flip up... looks like you might have to lift off the entire body to get to the engine. John

Yup, that's the one I was talking about. It is definately for the "wow" factor. Wish I had that kind of cash. John

    Any guesses?

I'm running the 180cc "pro lightning" aluminum heads from that company on a 355 small block Chevy in my old Camaro. I'm extremely pleased with them. Great off-idle torque even with a somewhat big cam, but keeps pulling great up top. John

    Help!!

Yeah, I too thought about going twin turbo with a GT40, but the space is very limited under the rear bonnet, and I'm not sure the fiberglass could take the heat either. I've decided that my twin-turbo engine project will find itself in a Datsun 240Z! Another car that weighs about 2400 pounds...

    Rear Wheel HP results

Is the rear suspension that bad at hooking up? Is it that the shift time is slow with the cable linkage? I know of guys with big heavy 3500 pound Camaros and Chevelles who have relatively mild (400-450 horse) engines putting them into the mid 11 second range. Granted they've done a lot of...

    Gasoline prices in your area?

96 Octane! That is nice. We've got "premium" at 93 octane here... It's running about $2.05/gallon in my town. John

    Turbocharger efficency

Ron, one way I can think of to use a supercharger and turbo in conjunction like you mention is by using a magnetically engaging supercharger. I can't remember who makes them, but I remember seeing one awhile back... it was a roots type and the pulley works like a clutch driven fan, but is...

    Turbocharger efficency

I'd never go for it, but hey if he's got the money... I think 2 is enough for most V8s... I'm interested though in the possibility of doing a 3-turbo setup... smaller ones to build quick boost and big ol' turbo to take over once it spools up. Eh, probably more trouble than it is worth. John

    Turbocharger efficency

I also love turbos! They are incredible little devices. I know of a guy who is currently building a Chevy small block engine for a '57 Chevy that will be force-fed by 8 turbos! It looks like a plumbing nightmare... and is more for show, but very interesting. If you're interested, you can...

    Turbocharger efficency

related question... will a ball bearing type turbo be more or less efficient inherent to its design? It seems to me as though it would be. I love turbos... such a neat invention. John
