    AP or Wilwood

Thanks Malcolm, You say APs are the better brake, no question. My question is, why? What is it about the APs that are so much better. Don't mind spending the extra cash, just want to know why. Brett, Keith, My current thinking is AP 4 pots front (CP5040) with a 295 disc (15" wheels) with a...

    AP or Wilwood

Thanks Brett. That is a big selling point, their head office is just down the road from me in Coventry. Trouble is they wont deal with me as an individual. The thing is the Wilwood's 6 pots are roughly half the price of the equivalent AP's, although AP 4 pots are cheaper and about the same...

Thanks for the heads up. Managed to change my holiday. Should be a good race next year, especially if Toyota can last the distance.

    Political forum

Any chance we could have a separate political forum, where Bob and Jim can discuss the relative merits of communism vs nazism? (Just kidding guys!) That way the rest of us could just chew the fat like we used to, and those who have probably become disillusioned with the paddock of recent...

    AP or Wilwood

Thanks for the input so far. What a really want to know is are the APs worth the extra cash or not. And if so why? I can get the extra money past the bank manager(wife) but only with justification. People keep telling me that APs are the best, but when asked why, no one seems able to tell me.

This is absurd - 54.5mpg mandate by 2025

To an extent your right, although McLaren are doing their bit to reduce the cost of CF cars. At the moment the cost is prohibitive, and the technology not yet advanced enough to take fossil fuels out of the transport system altogether. However, all your talking about is an increase to 55mpg...

This is absurd - 54.5mpg mandate by 2025

But how good would it be for your Vett or GT to be as fun, as powerful, and still get 55MPG! Its coming, its just that the engine noise might be on a CD. 100% of the torque, 100% of the time, its the future.

For all those in Europe read up!

That all depends on your interpretation, and for that we will have to wait for the DFT to rule. I would have thought, having read a bit more about it, that your car would then need to pass the braking efficency section of the MOT for that car. You wouldn't be allowed to make the brakes worse...

For all those in Europe read up!

From what I understand, its not outlawing alterations but forcing people who make alterations to then undergo testing. I suppose in this case it would mean IVA. Still not good for the industry.
