    F1 2022

I like the styling of the new cars, except for the front wings are too far forward. Gone are the thousands of little air directors, the ugly bumps or steps where the front upper suspension rods joined top of the chassis. Like the new paint graphics on most of the cars, favorite - Alfa, Aston...

    SLC 24 Howard Jones

Now thats a great complement to your morning hot chocolate! Iyyeeee like it. Easy to tell the confidence is "strong-like-bull" compared to earlier vids, way to spank those Mazdas you show'd 'em good. The hot looking McLaren M8 was a nice surprise, shame it wasn't up to speed. Nice driving and...

    SLC noise

The challenge with any option will be getting an end with a small enough overall OD and a large enough bolt hole ID to fit into the lower front rod end pocket.

    SLC noise

(SLC) I replaced the front suspension rod ends with custom made urethane "T" rod ends (similar to the ones shown above) some time ago. Had a shop in Texas make them up for me, the hardest part was getting ones with the proper sleeve/insert size for the lower control arm (Its a larger bolt than...

    SLC 24 Howard Jones

Without video proof, it didn't happen. :p 150hp increase? - you should notice that. Are you still accelerating at the end of the straight? If yes, then a reduction in weight would be helpful as it will get you to speed sooner. Shorter gears will get you there faster, might take some load off...

    Del's Build: SLC IR/8

My friend used to haul his daughter (with the proper safety gear) all over the place at 3 years old in his ZO6. He was amused at how many people gave him a scowl (this IS California remember) look as he motored past. On the other hand he got quite a few "thumbs up" from the envious as well. She...

    1975 can am

Like it. Looks like a fun project, if bought at the right price hard to go wrong. Odd "shielding" around engine compartment, odd angle of the front radiator (normally they are nose high, tail low). Do you make the deal and bring it home?

    New Build - William Stapleton

Questions like this caused a change of direction from a Ferrari 360 engine and gearbox to a boring, but tried and true LS based monster. That and there were quite a lot of other unique mods going on all over the SLC. "Too much to chew" was way back there in the rear view mirror. Someone else...

    New owner introduction

Nice. You're in the right hands with Hill, he's a good guy. Those LMP2 and3 cars will be quite the challenge.

    Modern-day Miura

Let me say, it is a loss knowing another skilled builder is moving away from the bay area (Howard was only a few miles from you). A friend used to live on Thumb Butte in "Preskitt" and I must admit I'd prefer that area as well, old downtown is right out of a western movie. Nice place to be.

    Michael's GT-R Build

A little late to the party here- What plastic did you use to thermoform your driving/fog light lenses? Did you form under vacuum or just gravity? At what temp? Thanks

    Saudi Arabian GP

Malcolm wrote; "Put a tight concrete wall all the way around all circuits and then drivers won't get pushed wide. In club racing it is not allowed." In motorcycle road racing (generally) you are going to be in a world of poo if you run a guy off in the grass or dirt while making a pass. Someone...

    Saudi Arabian GP

What a mess. F1 management apparently manipulated their own rules to create a NASCAR finish, long live entertainment of the masses. Truth be told, it was obvious LH had this race under control from start to finish, Max just couldn't match the pace and had no chance on pace to win. Not that I'm a...

    Saudi Arabian GP

Loosing interest in F1 mainly because the cars are ugly (but getting slightly better) and so is the driving. Always wanted to like Shoemaker (the worst), but his willingness to "Senna" his way to the win was a huge detraction. I see Max and Hami in the same light, only they are less obvious...

    SLC 001 Build

Considering upgrading to Corvette ZO7 carbon ceramic brakes, I'd like to read comparisons between the iron and carbon setups. Now you'd think the Corvette forums would be where to go, so far I have not seen the information I'm looking for. Primary question is - does carbon require less pedal...

    RIP Jim Pace

The man could drive a car, that's for sure. When viewing that vid originally I was really surprised that he was following so close over the rise at RA, especially with the LONG history of Can-Am cars propensity for back flipping under those exact conditions. RIP Jim

    New Member from Texas

I believe Howard Jones has his GT40 registered in Texas (he is just south of Austin) the difference is that he brought his into Texas from California. You might want to send him a PM on the subject.
