Bill, Are you kidding? Of course, I will stay in touch with you guys. I have met some great people here, and have learned volumes of information, both technical and historical. I consider you all, my good friends. You may rest assured, if the day ever comes, that I buy another home on the...

    DRB #35 for sale

Lynn, Thanks for the kind comments. It was a tough decision, but one that had to be made. As a fellow member of the old guard, you can appreciate what it's like to give up something that you dreamed of as a youngster, and then finally attained. I hope that it goes to a good...

    DRB #35 for sale

Due to an upcoming move to the U.S. Virgin Islands, where the speed limit is only 20mph, and the roads are barely fit for a goat, I am forced to sell my GT40 (DRB #35). : ( The car was factory built by GT40 Australia, and put it on the road in late 2002. It has very low mileage, and is a well...

G50 - How Much Lash Is OK ?

Peter, I had some in/out play (Hmm), due to the bearing issue, but there was very little lash, when I rotated the axle flanges. It was a brand new differential though. Bill

G50 - How Much Lash Is OK ?

Peter, I had a similar issue, when I bought my G50 (fresh rebuild). It ended up being an axle shaft bearing that wasn't fully pressed into place. The shop that did the installation paid $400 in shipping, and had it back to me in less than a week. BTW, my gearbox is pretty quiet, but then...

    Aluminum blocks and oil leaks....

I've seen a few leaks on aluminum engines that were due to poor machining, but some leaks were in spots where aluminum and steel were in "contact". The different thermal expansion and contraction rates of the two metals ended up being the ultimate culprit in those cases...

    Motec Fuel Injection

Phil, I had my Motec/TWM EFI "tuned" and chassis dynoed at Second Street Speed, in Perkasie, Pa. (Southeastern Pa). Bill Hunsberger is the Motec guru there. He has boatloads (pun intended) of Motec experience. You can get Bill's phone number from their website. Well worth the call. He came...

    Fuel conditioners vs. ethanol issues

I have been using Stabil as a fuel conditioner for a number of years, but recently became aware of two other fuel conditioners, which are purported to be better at solving the fuel/water separation issues, associated with "ethanol added" gasoline (alcohol). One is Seafoam, the other is Star...

    Clarkson takes some target practice

Clarkson can't hit a clay pigeon to save his butt, but does OK, when shooting at bigger targets. :o http://media1.break.com/dnet/media/2006/10/target_practice.wmv Charles K, Is this how you Brits shoot sporting clays? ;)...

    Engines' skewed a bit...

Ray, When I installed my TWM manifold, I had to do a minor "adjustment" on the fiberglass at the rear of the hole, in order to accomodate the fuel rail crossover block. I sanded the radiused edge back from the underside, so not to get into the paint, then touched up the black underneath. I...

    Engines' skewed a bit...

Ray, Is anything flexing visibly under acceleration? Maybe a passenger could take a look, while you're standing on the throttle. Broken motor mount? Wouldn't be the first time that happened. How small is the gap between the turkey pan and the f/glass...

    Engines' skewed a bit...

Ray, The rubbing that you've noticed is probably due to movement caused by engine torque. Let me guess....left side of the induction opening? Solid or urethane motor mounts should solve the problem. Bill

    1000HP Ford GT!

I'm not into "tuner" type cars, but what these guys get out of a new Ford GT with twin turbos is absolutely AMAZING! These guys are insane!!! It's a 20 minute video, with lots of colorful language, but worth a peek for anybody who's into sheer HORSEPOWER. Joe's Twin Turbo...

    Porsche 930

PB, Here in the States, Kennedy Engineered Products, in California, would be your best bet. Great people, fast shipping, great prices, etc. If you order an adapter plate from them, you might as well get a starter as well, since you'd be paying shipping and customs anyway...
