My RCR "DPE-962X" 8500 RPM -1500HP Engine Build *lots of pics*

In the oilfield & process industry, SS mesh pads are often used in the tops of scrubbers and other separation vessels to entrain fluid in the gas that's passing through.

    Supporter Subscriptions

Lots easier just to sign up as a lifetime supporter. It avoids all these renewal hassles, and you can't beat the annual rate, especially if you're a young guy. You could conceivably get 28 years of membership for just a tad over $10 per year. The one time single year Gold membership is...

    Electric water pump

Ditto, I'd be tempted to eliminate the 'stat and bypass line and go with full variable speed control of the pump. You've already made one "pioneering" choice by eliminating the mechanical pump and going electric; why not go all the way  BTW, I think your choice of pump placement is...

    Electric water pump

Just a comment on your thermostat placement. If you're trying to control outlet temperature from the engine in the conventional way, I would place it as close to the sensing point (engine outlet) as possible. There's already so much "thermal inertia" or lag in engines that coolant temperature...

    Electric water pump

I haven't corresponded with Brian in the last 3-5 months, but he was very helpful about 6-9 months ago when we were tossing around ideas on converting the engine driven oil pump to VSD. Just as an aside, I have the older 35a version of his single channel controller and it works very well.

    An/jic fitting dimensions

Very handy. I made a version of this in a spreadsheet but it only has the thread specifications and I like your version better. Thanks for your contribution.

    Aussie supercharged coyote V8

Does anyone have the silhouette dimensions of the Coyote motor? We know that it weighs approximately 430lbs, but it would be great to know how big it is...... Some pretty good tech specs of the motor here: 2011 Mustang GT Coyote Engine - 5.0 Mustang & Fast Fords

    RCR Formula/Open Wheel Car?

Fran do you love it enough to build it, or something like it? I've still got a V12 and a G50-52 looking for a home.... How about building something like one of these: F1-67 - Stuart Taylor Motorsport - Chevy Powered Period 1960's Race Car - The F1-67

    Hylomar Gasket Sealer

Great sealer, and much easier to clean up than an anaerobic (silicone) based sealer. The stuff will wipe right off with an acetone, lacquer thinner, or MEK wetted rag. Try that with silicone. +1 what Randy said about getting it on your clothes, but that's true about any sealer. Comes right off...

New Posts - How to Screen What Comes Up

Probably most people use the New Posts button to save time and to see what's new on the forum, however I recently discovered a handy way to screen what pops up when you hit the New Posts. If you're not interested in, for example, The Paddock, and don't want to see new posts there, simply go...

    from a 302 to a lexus v8 - conversion

I was bit by the Lexus V8 bug a number of years ago and really enjoy them. Wonderful engineering, and the music they make above 6000 RPM is something else. You can get them for a song (less than $500) on eBay, but they're very costly to hotrod 'cause you can't just go to Summit or Jegs for...

    Antonov 225

Those are awesome planes. My company used an earlier version to air lift an entire drilling rig to West Africa years ago. Our drilling rights were due to to expire, and we only had 60 days to mobilise a rig & start drilling. With the help of that Antonov we came in with a week or two to spare.

Hear, hear Cliff. BO's beach appearance was certainly no more ridiculous than Dubyah's when he made that carrier landing in full flight suit, with the "Mission Accomplished " banner in the background. Photo Ops indeed......

Conversion of Ford SB to dry sump - educate me

+1 for Bill Dailey and his setup. Dailey's dry sump setup makes the rest look like they were thrown together by amateurs, because in the Dailey setup there's no rat's nest of braided hose for the scavenge lines. He designs and builds his pans so that all the scavenge passages are...
