Jason Sorry I missed you out there. It was a great weekend with excellent weather. Pete's Bar was a success as always! Good to catch up with Pete McCluskey although I couldn't hear his phone call over the bar room noise in the bar on Sunday evening.....

    Shelby event at Winton Raceway

Antony I know that apart from the Tassie contingent of RF owners, there have been some Victorian owners that have ferried their cars down for touring purposes. Can you find out some details about ferry crossings and maybe propose an itinerary? Cheers Bill

    Roaring Forties # 61

Gus I actually had never put them on until about a week ago. I've had the car displayed at the F1GP for the last 4 days and needed them on. ING Girls Got to get those butt cheek prints off the car... Unadorned. Cheers Bill

That was not a sleight on Ross by any means, but by all reports Iain's car is vastly different from Ross' and capable of competing in an open National category. Ross does amazingly well considering he develops the car himself and it is a true testament to his abilities that he is so competative...

Sorry 'bout the drift Iain. I hope you plan on bringing that beast down to Melbourne for some racing. It would be great to see a GT40 kick the crap out of the GT3's/Ferrari's and Lambos! All the best and hope it is on the track again soon. (Thanks Tim, I'll be keeping an eye on your thread)...

    RF rear rims

As Bobski says, whilst low profile tyres are cool, I think the higher the profile the better they look on the GT40. A quick call to RF should let you know what you can and can't do. They have computer modelled the entire car and will be able to tell you if anything needs modfying. Cheers

    RF rear rims

Fred My car has 275's on a 9.5in rim (17in diam). The earlier stock RF's came out with 255's on the back on 15 or 16in diam rims. How wide do you want your tyres?

    new build

Dave It is not unusual for self built vehicles to take a long time because "life" seems to get in the way.... It took me almost 6 years, marriage, renovations, child, change in jobs - all conspired to delay me. There was also a 6 month period where I simply lost motivation.... Having said...

    Can't Get The Spinner Off

Bill Are you using an anti-sieze paste on the threads before you put the spinners on? Aluminium spinners can "weld" themselves to the rim due to the stress and heat of use.

    Tank capacity

Ken Hard to know unless someone has direct KVA experience (which I don't - sorry) but as far as your fuel levels are concerned, the sender units within your tanks seem to be the problem. One may not be working (check your wires going to the senders and also your fuse box as you may have a blown...

    If Carlsberg did forums

Look here There are some good old engines that come out of 70's Fords here in Oz that cost the equivalent of 150 - 200 GBP. Problem is shipping it halfway around the world..... We can't use them here in GT40's as they aren't emissions compliant.

    GT40 Driving Impressions

Bill, I'd say let some of the scars heal by driving it on the road, as your confidence in the car increases so will the itch to give the car a sterner workout. I'm in the thows of gaining that confidence in my car so I think I understand where you are at. Enjoy - enjoy - enjoy...
