    What's your unsprung weight?

Dave, as most of these builds go, I think I threw all that and the kitchen sink into the Goals bucket. Yes, I'd love to track it. With that in mind, I widened the track width and did a few other things to it that you'll hopefully see soon in the build logs.

    What's your unsprung weight?

Yes Jim, that's a good method. I wish I had gotten an actual unsprung weight front and rear before taking the original suspension apart.

    What's your unsprung weight?

Hi Randy, I actually have the book. This wasn't a very scientific approach and I had no intention of calculating it fully- I just threw it on the scale before I got rid of it. Thanks for sharing Terry. Out of curiosity, what thickness for the tubing?

    What's your unsprung weight?

I never seem to hear actual numbers on unsprung weight or corner weight of suspension components here, unless someone weighed their new rims before mounting them. I'm wondering if anyone has actually taken their bits off and thrown them on a scale to get an idea of the weight. I weighed the...

    Renato's GT40 MkI Coyote

They're Spohn Del-Spheres. They're not actually solid rod ends- they have a spherical bearing that rotates on a delrin bushing so they don't bind, and are rebuildable/greasable. People say they handle like solid rod ends but ride like poly. I wanted something that was going to last more than a...

Hi Jason, Aren't you worried about the circular plate off of the block plate rattling like crazy from the engine?

    Renato's GT40 MkI Coyote

Hi Will, I assume you are talking about the last pictures and not Renatos, since both of his are actually 45's. The arms are simply tacked together in that picture for geometry checks on the car. The tubes at the 45 intersection are actually beveled heavily before being welded. I didn't...

    Renato's GT40 MkI Coyote

Well, don't do it if you don't have to! It made my simple A-Arm weld fixture into a shimmed, clamped nightmare with lots of math. Also consider that if you replace the ball joints down the road, I saw those big chrysler ball joints with different lips, meaning that some had slightly less range...

    Boss Mustang

The fact that they're available for under 6k as a crate engine is incredible. (Though the Roadrunner crate is now unavailable as the Boss run has ended.) The rumored changes for the 2015 engine are something I'm looking forward to as well. 0.040" more intake lift, 0.080" more exhaust lift, Boss...

    Boss Mustang

I bought a 2012 GT new and kick myself daily for not getting a Boss. I had a chance to drive a 2012 Boss at autocross and the handling and brakes are incredible compared to the stock GT. Excellent choice Ron! I would recommend getting the Laguna Seca Brake Ducts installed as soon as possible if...

    Renato's GT40 MkI Coyote

Hi Renato, I don't know what your kingpin inclination is, but with my wilwood pro spindles at 11 degrees, I had to angle the cup in the lower and upper A-arms (with your same ball joint) to make sure I never came close to binding on the ball joint at the edges of travel.

    GT40 Mk1 body alignment procedure

Great summary of fitment, Mike. It helps to see a bunch of common sense all in one place rather than piecing together lessons learned spread across 4 pages of each build thread.

    GT-Forte GTs40 build

I'm sure you measured this, but make sure your horseshoe didn't spring forwards when you cut the upper supports out. I welded in braces to prevent it from moving while doing similar work.

    GT40 Body Model

Right now I'm making a quick cardboard template of the transitional scoop shape at the end of the door. I'm also a day behind because of work (Sorry Boris!). I can't tell you how awesome it is to have both a frame model (laboriously produced over a few weekends) and Boris's body model to drop...
