    An Aviation first.

Considering the remaining B-52's are worth their weight in gold, and have a planned service life out to the year 2040, with possible extensions....yeah, that's something to cry over when looking back at it. Think about that. An aircraft that first flew in 1952 will be in military service 90...

    An Aviation first.

Some can be, and are, recommissioned and brought back to flight status as demand dictates. Most others are used as parts stores. If they're worth anything at all, you can bet they're pretty well buttoned-up and taken care of.

    Tornado MKII

Can't wait to see you dig in! Will you properly set the build speed record this time?

    GT-Forte GTs40 build

Fuel tanks are a risky thing to start off on, and also quite materially expensive if you screw them up badly enough. Used Hobart or Miller TIG welders, the ones before the age of computer chips galore for the innards, are usually unkillable and easy to maintain.

Old Tornado- Bringing Back to Life

I've been fabricating a jig and doing a lot of research in preparation to make new A-arms. In my internet travels, I ran across these: Spohn Del Spheres....Greasable rod ends using delrin bushings. I've used delrin before and am always amazed it is not used more in automotive bushing...

    Darrin's MMR BOSS based GT40

Darrin, are you sure the bottom of the reservoirs will be above the level of the master cylinders?

Chassis panel fit, stupid question 1 of many.....

Unless I am the guy that actually made the welds, I would not grind anything off, whether the builder says it is penetrated or not. The first time you find out you're wrong is the time a chassis joint cracks....and you better hope it isn't critical.

    Indicator Stalks

There's a GT40 currently for sale on this forum that has stalks on the column. Here's a picture:

Old Tornado- Bringing Back to Life

Due to cost, availability, and durability, I have opted to swap the Granada front pieces for Wilwood Pro 2" drop spindles, based off of Mustang II geometry. This creates a few problems with geometry. The Wilwood spindles are 1.550" taller than their Granada counterparts, in addition to having...

    spinner safety clips

I'd suggest finding someone with a rigid drill press, and throwing them a few dollars (pounds). It'd save you a LOT of trouble.

How are you drilling them, and at what speed?

    GTD build by Pfenlon

Says the guy who makes me feel inadequate as a human being every time I look at his build thread. Do post some pictures soon, Pete!

    One more thing to check

Randy is correct. About the worst you can do with wires these days is get some that destroy your radio reception. I didn't see an antenna on your car, so....

    Carbon GT mono

I think the world has enough replicas with original-looking bodies. Good on Urs for doing something different for himself. It's not like he's hacking this together....everything he does is 100% quality. Whatever the final result looks like, it will assuredly be lovingly crafted and perfectly...

    Brake and clutch cylinder...

This was talked about recently in another thread as well, but there are 12v Linear Actuators available, like HERE that would allow you to build a power adjustable pedal setup if you mounted the pedals on sliders.

As far as ride height...I think most people are in the 3-4" range?

    Bet you haven't see this...

:( A ridiculous error, but nice to know what the problem is! The previous owner of my 944 Turbo swapped an air-oil-separator line with a coolant feed line for the aftermarket turbo and pumped a bunch of water into the oil pan. The rubber to hard line connections were right next to each other...

    Chuck and Ryan's RCR Build

I was in the class that was the very last year to have shop class available to them in high school a few years ago. The program there was dismantled, the machines sold, and a computer lab installed in its place. My father had a MIG, TIG, Bridgeport, and lathe in the basement growing up, and I...

This does not work for me..

That photo, in that color, makes the car look very odd. I don't think the older cars look very flattering painted like that. The new GT's, on the other hand.... I wouldn't mind that paint.
