    serpentine system

I have a Prestige 351W with the 8 stack Borla in my SPF MK1, which was built by Prestige Motorsports. If you haven’t yet spoken with Doug, I suggest doing so. He sent me a very detailed proposal listing all of the part numbers, based on his recommendations, along with a price for each part.

    Sunvisors & side mirrors

I would make sure that whatever side view mirrors you select be available with convex lenses. I took delivery of my MK1 three weeks ago, and I can tell you that the rear side vision is almost nonexistant. I had Talbot style mirrors, with flat lenses installed in the corners of the Perspex side...

    Hello from Wyoming

Congratulations on your decision. Just took possession of my finished SPF MarkI two weeks ago. It was worth the wait, frustration and anxiety involved. The only downside is that the driving season in Montana is not as long as I would prefer. The information here was invaluable to many of my...

    Black Carpet Recommendations

I have no knowledge of the amount of carpet necessary to do the inside of a GT 40, but my background was 43 years in the carpet industry. Ozite was known for manufacturing indoor/outdoor carpet. It was low/flat and tightly constructed, so it was durable, and dirt would not get buried in a deep...

Your car looks fabulous. The graphics definitely add to the look. I see you’ve added the outside mirrors since your last photos, I like the placement. Who’s mirrors are those?

    Fueling an SPF Mark I

Chris, Thanks for the information. I don’t know if it’s a straight shot down from the fuel cap to the tank, but I was thinking of making a marked stick to check the level of the tank opposite of the one being filled. That way I would know the difference between the tank being filled and the...

    Fueling an SPF Mark I

I am leaving next Saturday to pick up my SPF Mark I. I have heard conflicting information regarding fueling the car. I know there is a crossover pipe/line between the two fuel tanks, but is it large enough to equalize the level of gas between the two tanks while filling from a single fill...

    Car Security

Having the car stolen while it’s on my trailer was my main concern. Like you, I have heard of many vintage cars stolen while being trailered. And since I will be doing quite a bit of trailering, using an open trailer, I just want to protect my car as much as possible. I had to travel down to...

No trunk space, I’d have to carry him as a passenger.

    Car Security

My completed SPF Mark I will be ready for pick up in a couple of weeks. It started me thinking about what can I do in the event that the car is either stolen or the possibility of a carjacking? Aside from installing a hidden battery or cutoff switch, what other things have you done to insure...

    Tool room for sale

It’s gone up $80,000 in price in a little over a year. When I placed my order, not for a Tool Room, in December 2021, the price was $369,000. Sounds like it would have been a pretty good investment.

    Prestige Motorsports

My sentiments exactly. I’ve stated in a previous post that I thought they were the best company I’ve dealt with in regard to the completion of my SPF Mark I. After unsuccessfully trying to communicate with Roush, I turned to Prestige. Communication was both fast and easy, they actually answer...

SPF MK1, what needs to / should be done?

Rick, Another recent thread here talks about the wheel bearings. Has anything ever been done to update/improve these from earlier editions?

    SPF Guages

The 351W motor that I’m installing in my car had a lower redline (6000 rpm) than the ”standard” 6500, so I specifically asked if there were any options, and was never given any definitive answer. The standard gauges are Smiths, and there were no options listed on the build sheet I was given.

GT 40 "Tulip" walnut shift knobs with emblem

Rick, Is there any difference in the threads between LHD and RHD shift knob For an SPF?

    Howdy!

I have P2442, which arrived Stateside on December 7th, and his now at my chosen shop being finished. Aside from the options offered by Superformance, you have made one of the two important decisions. That is your choice of engines. The other is the transaxle you plan to use. The two most...

    Were are then new builds

My SPF Mark I, ordered last December, arrived at the shop the week before Christmas. Since the shop was closed between the holidays, work has just started. I believe everything necessary to complete the car has been received, so I Am hoping for a completion date around the first of March.

    GT40 Transaxle.

Does the use of any transaxle other than the ZFQ or ZF/RBT disqualify the car for use in vintage car racing?

    Two Questions Regarding SPF GT40

Just received word yesterday that my car has finally reached the U.S, and in fact has been received at Hillbank Motors in Irvine, California. They sent me a couple of pictures of it on the shipping dolly, and it brought up a couple of questions. The first one is in regard to the windshield...
