Someone flew a small plane into the IRS bldg in Austin, TX.

Well it honestly doesn't matter what the Government has or doesn't have the authority to do, it's what they're GOING to do. I guarantee they will restrict the hell out of civil aviation. I also guarantee that this story will run it's course in about a week and it'll be covered up and this guy...

Someone flew a small plane into the IRS bldg in Austin, TX.

Here's the link to the Austin American Statesman who quoted the whole manifesto the guy posted. He makes very valid points and basically it seems he sacrificed himself in order for the country to wake up to the crooked government we have running our lives. I guess he felt he needed to be a...

Someone flew a small plane into the IRS bldg in Austin, TX.

Yes, it's true. The pilot apparently set his house on fire in town, then went and got his plane and filled it with fuel and flew it into one of the IRS field offices in Austin off 183 & Mopac Blvd. More details to follow as I get them. Laters, Brian

    347 or 351???

The best stroker engine from the 302 foundation is the 331. The reason is the 347 puts the wrist pin up in the piston rings and thus destroys the longevity of the engine. If you don't mind pulling the engine and rebuilding it every year or 2, then go ahead, the 347 makes tons of power if done...

Thermal Energy Storage, or why I've been scarce around here lately

Good luck Mark! Sounds like you're well on your way to starting your own green energy empire, I hope. We have heat pump systems around here that use geothermal heat to heat/cool homes and just circulate coolant through an array of pipes set into the ground. I'm sure this is much more complex...

    A lousy day @ IAD

This is true. I was out with my friend a few years back and we were adjusting on houses in MN who were hit by hail and wind damage. We just wrote the estimates, entered them in the computer, and cut the checks on the spot. Pretty quick and easy. On a personal note... God, I can't find a damn...

    No, this is NOT Montana!

It's snowing in Brownwood too. Had to drive the wife to Abilene (1.5 hr northwest) and it snowed the whole way there and back. The roads were all slushy and nasty. I've never driven in this stuff before, kinda weird. Now, listen to me all you who are about to flame me for never driving in...

    A lousy day @ IAD

Let me revist my previous statement about snow not being covered... The weight damage from snow accumulation IS covered. LOL Did a little digging back in my books. Anyway, it IS covered, so you're all right. Carry on...

    A lousy day @ IAD

Well, not to burst your bubble or anything, but snow damage isn't necessarily covered by insurance. Ice is, but not snow weight if memory serves. I just got my Insurance Adjuster License and had to go through a 40 hr class for the certification. Snow isn't covered under most standard...

    Backpack helicopter

The reason for the expense of the rotary wing license was I wanted to get a commercial license. I wanted to do that as a career. Then I started doing some digging and found out that there aren't that many jobs... YET. The Vietnam era pilots that are out there flying choppers now are getting...

    Backpack helicopter

Re: solving peak hour I wanted to get my, and still want to get my rotary wing license. There's LOTS of money flying helicopters in the private sector. Training will set you back $45,000 - $60,000 though. Think I'll have to wait a bit for that...
