    Jason's Coyote Powered RCR40 Downunder

Jason, dependant on the state you are in, in the event that the seat is fully supported by the chassis/bodywork and not on adjustable tracks you do not need ADR compliant seats. The head rest component of the seat must be "clear" of the body work to allow some energy absorbtion. Also, full...

    Kiwi scratchbuilt

Russ, What you really need to know is how hot the tyres are and the rec temp by the manufacturer. With the same compound not hot enough- fitting smaller width tyre will increase temp. Stiffer springs , roll bar settings will also help. You can also get them too hot. I would not compare your...

    rear suspension setup

Bob, spot on ! very good description. What some fail to recognise or have difficulty in conceiving is that the arrangement of the suspension is in fact a wide based "wishbone" in effect.

    rear suspension setup

Jack, yes they were better as the original Rev A was bad to start with. Having said that, either type can give the right solution that the designer is looking for. me personally I prefer a system that can provide control of bump steer. Bump steer is not a bad thing , excesssive can be...

    rear suspension setup

Jack, no particular reason to run caster unless space considerations and not a good idea unless inboard pickups for lower links are also castered ( see Bob P post) I have converted a few early racers to parallel links for people. every body has the "best" idea so they make their own choice.

    rear suspension setup

Jack, the configuration of suspension design is the designers personal choice whether it be reversed lowe A arm or twp parallel lower links. Current trend is an upper and lower wishbone with a toe link so that bump steer can be introduced. Much like a front suspension with the toe link...

    rear suspension setup

Bob, 100% correct as your two lower links are co planar and you should not get bump steer.

    rear suspension setup

Jim, first sentence is correct whilst lateral links are co planar have you considered that when you apply caster the 2 lateral links are no longer co planar ????
