    Convert MKII into MKI ?

I like the rear of the MK1s but I think the front clip on the MK11s looks nicer, with the raised wheel arches. When my cars, a MK1 and a MK11 are side by side, I tend to think that the MK1 is more elegant but the Mk11 is a race car and more aggressive. when they are seperate, I tend to think the...

    Comparison of GT 40 Kits

I knew that was in the works Andy , but I did not want to jump the gun. Matt, my car was actually a turn key, purchased from a forum member. so I can only speak from a finished product standpoint. If I am not mistaken, much of the body work is done on the kit CAVs and it is just a matter of...

    How cut braided fuel hoses

use Aeroquip Startlite nomex hose, avoids all the SS braided hassel, saves your fingers, is lighter and looks more vintage. Pricey though.

    Oil Cooler Hose sizes

I think the -12 would be preferable, also avoid 90 degree fittings, go with 45s

Chassis and suspension set-up and tuning

I put mine on the lift last week because the arms on my Daytona were loose so I wanted to check the 40. They were not stripped on the Daytona and after they were tightened they were fine. The GT40 arms were ok, no problems

    front clamshell question

Steve, I will try that. It is time to sell one of the GT40s and the SPF is fully sorted so I put it up on CobraCountry.com recently. It is a super nice car but I do not need two.

    front clamshell question

I have never removed the front clamshell completely, but last night I popped the latches and raised it in the rear and slid it forward enough to check the brake fluid levels. When I slid it back and buttoned up the latches it seemed to have more play in the front than I remember. You can lift up...

    IDA v. IDF

can you use the same throttle set up if you go from IDA to IDF?
  15. C

    IDA v. IDF

IDFs do have the advantage of being far less expensive

    IDA v. IDF

MY IDAs fit in my CAV fine with normal size trumpets, plenty of room. IDFs may be easier to tune but there are problems with fit of valve covers as I understand it, you may need to modify the covers. I would go with IDAs with a 3rd progression hole drilled.

    Webers - Leaky Banjos

Randy, I was at Pep Boys the other day and I saw that they carried a very similiar washer as the stat o seals. They were in the area where oil pan washers would be.
