Throttle body trumpets - need some short ones.....

Yup, thanks, it's a good idea - I did look at some of the "side draft" options like the Borla and others....and it's a good option. At this point I'd like to try to make the down draft ITBs work since I've got a ton of time and money into it. Everything works well - the engine runs great -...

Throttle body trumpets - need some short ones.....

Anybody know where I can get some short-ish trumpets for ITB's I have on my 347? Currently, the trumpets are probably too tall to fit in the available space. As cool as the tall trumpets look, I'm going to have to replace them with something shorter. Anyone know where short trumpets like in...

    Adhesive

The 3M 5200 is an excellent adhesive, particularly where there may be exposure to moisture over time. It forms an extremely strong bond that will both flex a little, and not let go. Be aware, once you bond it with 5200 it will be a permanent bond. Have used 5200 in a variety of environments...

    Mendeola vs G50/G96

Doesn't look like the OP ("Jon") has been on this thread since May 2017..... Wonder how his project is going. I hope he got it done, or at least started. Easy for these projects to fall by the wayside. I'm going on 5 years now on my Lotus SBF transplant project. Nearing completion......ton...

'Was just rereading the "End of school prom" thread...

I was fortunate enough to drive a 1964 E-type jaguar convertible to my HS prom. My Dad and I had bought it a couple years earlier and completed a very nice driver restoration on the car by the time of the prom. It was a LOT of work....we did all the work ourselves....rebuilt the engine and...

    Homebuilt Mid-Engine Sports Racer

Fantastic build there Neil. Looks amazing. You have quite a car. Being a scratch build, I can't imagine how much blood, sweat and tears the build has taken to date. Keep up the good work! You must be getting excited to be nearing the end of the build and have a running and driving car...

    More Global Cooling/Warming/Change hoax.

There's nobody trying to stifle debate. I'm just making the simple point that the debate among scientists over whether the effect of man's pollution is causing rapid acceleration of global climate change is over. Long over. The vast, vast, vast majority of scientists agree that it is. The...

    More Global Cooling/Warming/Change hoax.

There's always some alternate view out there, with data as well, trying to advance the contrarian view. So it's no surprise someone can point to what looks like authoritative data and credible opinion. The fact of the matter however is that the debate is over. Long over. Years ago. Credible...

Gonna do it. Lotus Esprit SBF.

Hi Fellas, quick update here. Progress has been slow, as usual. Work and kids and a million other things cuts into the garage time.... Thought I better give a quick update and some pics. Basically, the last couple months I've been cleaning up the install - rewiring and replumbling some...

    Calling Old Members

Still reading and posting....two or three thousand post now at this point I think. I sold my CAV a few years back, but I know of no other more informed, smart, creative, collegial, and good natured group of gearheads on the web than here at gt40s.com. Really a treat to be able to share and...

Autonomous Racing Cars - Will Goodwood ever be the same?

Google pulled the self driving cars off the public streets for a reason (hint: accidents started happening). Somehow the missing element of human observation/intuition/reaction was a factor no doubt. I was at a trade conference recently and a guy was giving a presentation and indicating we...

    UN1 vs Audi 01E or 01X vs Boxster/Cayman gearbox

I think Scott at Advance Automotion (www.advancedautomotion.com) would be best qualified to answer that question. He checks out the forum periodically, and knows all about the intricacies of each audi transaxle variation so can probably confirm most precisely. Indeed, with the typical height...

    UN1 vs Audi 01E or 01X vs Boxster/Cayman gearbox

The 016 is dimensionally the same size. You're indeed a very fortunate person.

    UN1 vs Audi 01E or 01X vs Boxster/Cayman gearbox

It's true that the Audi transaxle (016) extends a little lower relative to the output shaft centerline (relative to a UN1), resulting in the engine having to be tilted forward more to keep the whole thing under the overall height limits. However, we're not talking inches....we're talking...

    1057 for sale

Looks great Walt. Rather drive that and put some miles on it on the street than put a bunch of money in an original garage queen. That's just me though. Drive the crap out of those Goodrichs. Inexpensive to replace and totally fine for street driving.

    J-10 for sale

Looks like she only finished one race (Japan) but hey, that's an original car with tons of good starts and history. Seems like a reasonable price for an original car with lots of race history in fantastic condition. Somebody will definitely buy it. Neil, that must have been something...
