    Pardon my ignorance

What HoJo says. Just get it rolling. You can get a junkyard motor if you need to. Although, there is a build on site with 130 hours that looks fantastic. Good luck in your quest; you're among the like minded.

    SL-C recommended engine/transaxle combos

Yes; driving a grenade around gets old if you're the one who pays the bills. I haven't seen reliability mentioned as a factor, and for a street car I think it counts. As for efficiency, one measure that I consider is HP per $. An LS3 = $6500/430hp = $15.12 per hp. A BMW M5 motor =$9000...

    RCR's Next car should be.....

I don't know. Starting an entirely new configuration would involve quite a lot of design (-$), fabrication (-$), testing (-$), marketing (-$), etc. (-$). Wouldn't he have to take some of his crew [or new hires] off of revenue collecting activities (-$), and put them on the above...

    Transaxle cooler - -8 or -10?

Is the oil going to be in there long enough for this to make that big (±5°?) of a difference? It doesn't seem likely to me, but I don't know.

My RCR "DPE-962X" 8500 RPM -1500HP Engine Build *lots of pics*

Every HP needs radiator space. The engine will generate heat. The gearbox will generate heat. The bigger the engine, the less freespace around it and thus less awmbient cooling.More radiators means more coolant, more weight, more brake area required, etc.

    My SL-Razor has arrived...

I had the impression that CA had a windshield (Fran: "windscreen") requirement, but I saw someone driving an Atom driving around once, and now the SLR as pictured (Fran: "photographed") does not have one. So, my question is: Does anyone know what the WS requirement is in CA? Thanks.

Question on red SLC rear clip

Smart use of your time. It appears that you have been making consistent, quality progress on your car. Most people either slow down/stop or get sloppy. I like your choice of motor - big, but not so extreme that it's constantly high maintenance. I'm especially curious to hear how those...
