JPs F40 Fire - Anybody know what happened?

Hi guys, Havent been on here for a while, I just saw that the forum was changed quite a bit. Are all the old posts still here or archived somehow? Reason I am asking is that I met a fellow car enthusiast who owns a F40. And I remember reading about JPs F40 being on fire because of a...

    Flywheel fabrication

If you are rebuilding your 302, have you thought about putting a stroker kit in it? You might want to do that since this will cost only slightly more if you have to get new pistons, rings, etc anyway, have the rods resized, crank ground etc. 331 or 347 stroker kits can be had complete for about...

it is possible to drive the gt40 in boots?

Speaking of driving in non-racing shoes, I hope all you guys have seen the video of the rather eye-pleasing young lady test driving a Ferrari 360 in her stiletos? Sure made me admit that there are SOME women who know how to drive. Warning, link contains some close fitting clothing if the...

    Engine Balance

Guys, You might want to look into selling your balancers and getting one that has removable weights instead. Look into the Powerbond+ model. Its SFI 18.1 approved, and even with 28oz, 50oz removable weights + spacers to fit any Small Ford you can get it from CNC-Motorsports for about $135. Lukas

    Goodyear Blue Streak Vinatage Tires

The blue streaks are not DOT legal. They are a track tire, hook and look fantastic, but will not last on the street for more than a few k mls. They also hunt grooves in the road very badly. The GY Eagle is one the few tires (besides BFG Radial and Yokohama Avid) that available in decent sizes...

-6 AN to 3/8" SS tubng adapter?

Re: -6 AN to 3/8\" SS tubing adapter? There are two options for you: 1. You buy a 37° Flaring tool (needs to be good quality like Ridgid to work on stainless), and then flare the tubing after sliding a tube nut and sleeve on. Summit or any other race shop will have them, and they are pretty...

    Beaten up Tri Wings ??

I second Michael's interest in a set of nuts for the pin drive adaptors! Should be quicker to change and you can actually get an accurate torque reading. Lukas

Anybody in New York tomorrow ?

If you get a chance, try to hook up with Jim G. (Mk-IV J6 on the forum). My girlfriend and I visited him in his garage just outside NYC last year. What an experience....! Especially now that the Lola and the P4 are ready! Lukas

    Budget 302

Fred, I personally have not bought a complete engine from them, but some parts (Ignition system, timing cover,...). The service was great and they were very knowledgeable. Lots of people I personally know on the ffcobra board run KC engines and are very satisfied. I also read the typical...

    Budget 302

In a Mustang I would go with a 347 or 331 stroker. You dont need the high RPM-advantage a 306 will give you, but you want more torque (cubes) since its a heavier car. Also your big advantage in a Mustang is that trannys are cheap. You can get a bullet-proof TKO-500 or 600 for about 1.6k. If...

    SB302 crank and rod kit

Fred, I can certainly understand your caution as I have dealt with unreliable suppliers from the US as well and know what a pain in the a?? that can be. I even have a 289 block sitting here that I wanted to get rebuild but I have not found a reasonable/reliable machine shop yet. The only one...

    SB302 crank and rod kit

Fred, Have you looked into the cost of a complete shortblock compared to buying the stroker kit and doing the machining and assembly in Europe? I really dont see how you could ever get the same thing for even close to the US price here, and you have to deal with much more. For FMS parts...

    Want to go fast?

Talking about innovative chaps, in the US, I am sure most of you know about the Dp1 www.dpcars.net ? This is not quite the same since it is bike powered, and only has one seat, but it should be a blast similar or even more so than the Atom!

    Want to go fast?

Ron, Have you checked into prices lately? From what I see on the PH forum prices have gone up A LOT with the introduction of the Atom 2. The basic 220 models are about $45k now and the higher spec 300s go for $65k with options.... You do get the Honda K20a engine for that, though! I simply...
