Apparently if you had a £5 accumulator bet on Leicester City winning the football premiership, Brexit happening and Trump becoming president your pay out would have been in the region of £12,000,000!
On the picture with the exhausts, won't the welds fracture over time? You have different rates of heat expansion yet all solidly fixed together. Did you consider springs as often used to hold exhausts to rear brackets? But looks a great project!
Even just a few years ago this competition would have had many replies. Now not so many interested in F1. Franks competition is perhaps the most interesting aspect of the final races as it is genuine open competition!
Bit soft for track use. Eibach do a dual rate spring set up for the GTD that is very comfortable on road and track. Effectively rising rate springs. Bit pricey but I think worth it. This spring set up was based around Koni dampers so talk to them and see what they say.
The rates you state...
20 odd years ago I made a bespoke trailer for my GTD. To overcome the low ride height of the car I fixed the trailer ramps/deck at an angle so the front of the trailer was about 12 inches higher from the ground than at the rear of the trailer. Then with some light weight but a bit longer than...
Sorry to pop the bubble, but the Derek Bell who had the GTD Lola T70 and was responsible for Quaife making the UN1 gear box kits is NOT the Derek Bell of Le Mans and F1 fame. Just a clever bloke who made and drove a rather fast car with the same name. He did get John Surtees to drive his T70...
According to Eddie Jordan, today is the day an announcement should be made stating that there is a new major stakeholder in F1 and that Bernie will go! We shall see.
It was a deliberate move and Nico was full of BS in his excuses for it. What annoys me is that the lower formulas will copy this sort of move. They don't have the same level of safety in their cars. Then it eventually moves into club racing. The driver briefings I attend are always full of...
There is a little bit of right in everyones response above because as we are all remote observers and likely not involved enough to know the full detail we are imposing our own viewpoint on the gaps in our knowledge of why the decision was taken.
My first hand experience is that when a person...
And our stock market just closed today on a 10 week high.
I was in Rome last Friday morning. Whilst it was an insignificantly small sample of people spoken to, the feeling was, if the UK can stand up for themselves then perhaps we can too.
It is interesting to see the American style of...
Can anyone explain how that circuit got sanctioned? Most of it reminded me of Indy Car road circuits (which is fine) but some of it was tighter than a tight thing gone through the wash on a very hot cycle!
Re: Proud Of Ford Winning LeMans Today!
Not everyone sees this as clearly as you do! Remember Ford did not sell any cars prior to taking part in this event so had to apply for a waiver which the other teams gave them else they would not have been allowed to come out to play. Add in the...
My neighbours gardener fell off a ladder and landed very horizontally and won the local hospital award for the most fractures in one accident for his 12 broken ribs and 6 vertebrae. I was amazed at how quick they discharged him so hopefully Alonso will be back up and running again soon.
I...
I don't think it possible to put a GT40 body on an R42 without monumental alterations that would be irreversible. The chassis are nothing alike. If you start you may end up with two dead project cars, an R42 and a GT40 replica. IMHO of course! :-)
