I forgot to mention Ofenhauser makes nice cast finned valve covers with their name in the top. I plan on getting a set & maybe a 4bbl man. too. I think with the name etc it'll give it a more "authentic" & vintage race look. Speedway racing has them in their cat.

Hi Leon great looking project. I didn't know about the nickle bronze being stronger than a regular weld. But I did know it was stronger than the parent metal of the pieces. I have a pace maker & they won't let me arc anymore. So I'm stuck with gas welding/brazing on my Lotus build.

I was wondering why you did all the hard work of wire brushing the metal pieces? Why not just sand blast them? You'd get rid of more of the rust & down in the nooks & cranies. That may be part of the problem with the new paint. The rust & residue left from wire brushing can cause paint to...
