    Miami Active Power Build

I purchased the BRM 17 inch wheels with the tires from a forum member. They are new and shipped to Active Power to be properly fitted, not knowing if the flares needed to be 2 or 3 inches. The rear tires are 315/35 and the fronts are 225/45.

These are some of the pictures of the chasis and body work currently being done at Active Power. The chasis should be powder coated next week and 3 inch flares will be added to fit the 12.5 inch wide tires.

    Inverted 997 tranny oil level

You can always tap a small hole on the former oil plug and screw in an elbow fitted with a hose.

    Inverted 997 tranny oil level

I spoke to Chris from Active Power who builds many of his cars with inverted Porsche transaxles. Use vise grips and remove the vent on top of the tranny by moving it back and forth until it pops out. Then use a 1/4 inch pipe tap that will fit perfectly. Use grease on the tap while tapping the...

    Inverted 997 tranny oil level

CMS said it should work but I did not get that feeling and wanted confirmation. I contact someone who a few months ago finished his build with a Porsche 996 transaxle. He said he used just under the recommented 3 quarts of oil and plugged the Vent. His tranny is working great. All I need now is...

    Inverted 997 tranny oil level

I researched but was unable to get a definitive answer. Its my understanding that a Porsche 997 transaxle takes 3 quarts of oil. By inverting the transaxle will it now require more oil for proper lubrication??? Thanks

    Miami Active Power Build

Rob, Chris is very accessible and promptly replys to my many questions. His builds appear to be fairly smooth, avoiding complicated body and windshield fitment issues. I was able to keep my 62 Corvette.

    Miami Active Power Build

I am not a fabricator or an engineer but can figure things out and follow instructions. I had fun building a Cobra many years ago and decided to now build a GT40. I did lots of research looking for an affordable rolling chassis build. I looked at the quality of several manufacturers and found...

    Borla induction help

Bill, the Boss comes with aluminum GT40 X Heads and is a nice setup for the money. I don’t plan to race the car, especially in Miami’s crowded roads. You should have no problem selling your Boss block on this forum. Not too many good original blocks left. Thanks for your input.

    Borla induction help

Bill, thank you for the information. I’m using a new casting Ford crate Boss 302 engine supposedly a block stronger than the original 69-70. I will be installing the Borla 8 stack induction requiring the small diameter MSD 8579 distributor with an MSD 6AL ignition box.
