    Classic Car Developments Chassis #3

Building and owning my car has been a huge and very enjoyable part of my life for 24 years. However, I am not getting any younger and have decided it is time to move on. If you know of anyone keen to own a very high quality 40, without the wait-time involved in a custom build, pass the link on...

    Dash Demister Grill

I have an original 4 screw variant and, yes, the tabs simply fit into two slots cut in the fibreglass.

    WTB Roundel lights for MKII

I bought several many years ago when I was building my car. Put the best 5 on the car and have these left over. I was never happy that the original clip mechanism was sufficient to hold them securely in the fibreglass, so modified them so that they are bolted on and hold modern bulb holders...

    Automotive artists

I live too far away, unfortunately, but happy to ship internationally if anyone has an interest in either of these.

    Road Coupe vs Race Coupe

Going by the shape of the nostrils, the vents at the rear of the front clip, and the ducting in the B-pillar, I believe the photo posted above is of a very early prototype.

Where can I see a gt40 in person

I'm 6'4" and my partner 5'11" and are both reasonably broad in the shoulders. It's a tight fit, but once in, we are both quite comfortable and have travelled many hundreds of miles together in the 40.

Show me your fuel pumps please! - Carb fed engines

Mine's a FISPA unit, as used on some old Alfas and Ferraris. Once again, they crop up occasionally on eBay or look on historic Alfa sites.

    Mk1 wiring diagram?

I do not recall the source of this, but it is supposedly a wiring diagram for a MKI.

    Kiwis RCR40 Build

No - probably don't fit the criteria then. Good luck with the build.

15” Tires for 8” Front and 10” Rear BRM style wheels to go on an RCR40

Mine have done 11,000 mikes. There's still maybe a 1000 to 1500 miles left on them, but I figure I'll change them soon to be on the safe side.

15” Tires for 8” Front and 10” Rear BRM style wheels to go on an RCR40

Why not go with Avons (while you still can)? My car is used exactly as you intend to use yours (i.e. mainly street use with the very occasional track day) and the Avons have been superb. In fact I have another set sitting in the basement ready to be put on in another 200 miles or so. Only...

    Twenty Years

No idea what date I joined, but I was apparently the 18th member on board. However, computer problems saw a profile change along the way. It's been a great ride, and like James, I appreciate the efforts of Ron and all the other moderators. Still a wonderful resource.

    Autumn colours outing

Went on a couple of Autumn Colours Outings recently, each around 600 km. Professional photographer caught some of decent shots.
