Will FFR launch a GT40 replica?

I thought there was some kind of lawsuit settlement years ago with C. Shelby that FFR agreed not to build a ‘40 replica?

    Lime Rock Historic Festival?

I sold my TS40 years ago Jeff to a fellow who at the time ran the GM proving ground. If you look closely to one of the pictures you can read the sign. Every now and then it’s nice to keep in touch with folks here.

Those are nice pieces! They are still available but certainly not at that low price. FYI, they might use only a 24V bulb so they would be very dim on 12V

Help - first GT40 - which would you buy?

FYI the UN5 is much different than the UN1 although they appear similar. The UN5 has a 9.5 inch ring gear and 4 spider differential. I believe the input/main shaft is longer as well. Here is a good link right here on the forum. https://www.gt40s.com/threads/renault-un5-trans.18709/

    1930s Fiat V24 Aero Engine

Well said Neil. My point is though that shifting the CG forward would necessitate dead weight added to the rear of the fuselage. I’m confident that with what they new at the time, they did an amazing job. It’s all speculation really but a good discussion of a design milestone.

Except that then when you would have to dictate that lead (dead weight) would have to be added to compensate for the forward CG of a higher displacement engine, it becomes a diminishing return. Higher power density aircraft engines of later designs negate these problems.

    1930s Fiat V24 Aero Engine

Several engine manufacturers built engines using similar design architecture during this era of aviation. Daimler Benz comes to mind. You guys would enjoy a book titled “ The Secret Horsepower Race” https://www.amazon.com/Secret-Horsepower-Race-Special-Development/dp/1911658867 It really...
