    Tube Chassis sheet metal

We use a lot of "panel bond" like Fusor in the collision portion of our shop. While the glue joint is stronger than sheet metal, it comes apart really easy with heat from a propane torch so it's not even permanently bonded if you can get heat on it. We worked behind another shop that bonded on...

    Tube Chassis sheet metal

I hope to start on the sheet metal on the chassis next month. What is the most common grade and thickness? I see 90%+ rivet but has anyone bond (like Fusor) and rivet to decrease rattle noise? What about bond and screw? Thanks

Windscreens - real and aftermarket, whats the difference.

I'm no expert, still learning and probably always will be. I'd say that is not an original screen as in 1960's production. It may be a original "shaped and contour" but not an original as in it came from one of the 100 cars or period spare. My opinion only.

    FS USA GTD Bare Chassis

I have a GTD bare chassis for sale, $6000.00. Located in SC and would prefer buyer pickup and cash in person. I am willing to ship but may holdout for some local enough to pick up.

    Clamshell hinges

So what is generally used as the pivot in the parrots? Is this urethane bushing or some type of bearing? I appreciate the pic because I had in my mind the parrot would have been upside down so the weight of the rear clamshell would hold it better.

I have a non-GT40 project that I would like to use Audi 4.2 V8 to 01E trans. Should be the same belhousing as your 012. What flywheel, clutch, starter did you use for your build? Thanks

    Clamshell hinges

Since I'm scratch building I'd like some advice on clamshell hinges. I'd like to start aligning body panels. I tried internet searching and there are more replicas than originals. Not that I intend to replicate the originals 100% but I would like to see what the originals look like. I would...

    Rear Clamshell wheel well lip

Morten, thanks for the help! Here are a few pics of the inside ducting. Note the air intake on the side is split, the larger portion goes into the "normal" brake duct, but the lower split exits into a small sqaure hole, pictured.

    Rear Clamshell wheel well lip

I bought it from a guy that's been collecting GT40 stuff since the 1970's. It is not original. He claims he had molds taken from a Gulf car directly for spares back then. He made this from those molds. I'm no expert and had not seen one with the lip. While I could never afford a real GT40, I...

    Rear Clamshell wheel well lip

I ran across some more parts and picked them up. Among them was a rear clamshell that is wide like lemans wide, 79+/- inches. But unlike others I've seen, this one has a lip at the wheel well opening. Anyone know what manufacturer had this style and did any original cars have this style?
