Silverstone Classic - can you help me out?

That's a shame, usually there have been 3 or 4 actually racing when I've been before. Not heard anything from anyone taking their car so will just see who I can find tomorrow or Saturday.

Silverstone Classic - can you help me out?

Hi, Is anyone taking their gt40 / replica to the Silverstone Classic next weekend? If so would you mind letting me and my girlfriend have a seat in it for a couple of minutes so I can propose to her? We decided two weeks ago to get married after finding out her father has terminal cancer...

    Xbox tsc gt40 announcement

Looking good so far, glad to see the twin nostril hatch came out top, the better look imo but just personal preference. Out of interest, as the bigger brakes won, will the 15" wheels still fit?

    ISIS wiring

I did a bit of a search after reading abotu it in Hot Rod mag. The pro-touring forums have a lengthy discussion in their electrical section. Might be worth a read. www.pro-touring.com

    Chuck and Ryan's RCR Build

Congratulations guys, have been following this build with interest, the dedication and attention to detail is inspirational, and the results speak for themselves. I'm sure this thread will be a mine of information for future builders (hopefully me included if the pound resurfaces from the...

    GT40 for sale, UK

had this engine in my old xr4x4, from my experience they are very good, but parts availability is becoming a problem for some items e.g. timing chains etc. there is a company called Boost Performance in Derbyshire who do a lot of them (as well as chevy LS)

    European Superformance registration

Am I right in thinking that a car registered in any EU country (including UK!) can be used in any other EU country, and reg transferred if necessary? i.e. get it SVA'd then register it in your home country?

    Tornado TS40 #875

Wow, just spent the last week of lunchbreaks reading this entire thread. That is incredible progress in a short length of time, and would seem to speak volumes about the kit quality and/or your commitment to the project. I am seriously considering a Tornado kit myself now. wrt the panelling...

    SVA - age and emissions

Probably safe, in my experience bright and DVLA don't go together! would be interested to know if anyone has done this though. I used to have a sierra xr4x4 converted to cosworth 24v V6, never told them about engine number change as never realised it was something I should do, don't see how...

    SVA - age and emissions

Thanks, for the info guys. The reason I ask is that I am considering building a GT40, but due to budget considerations I was hoping to use a pretty basic engine, for example something like SBF real steel advertise for around £2.5k, then upgrade later. Might have to look into getting something...

    SVA - age and emissions

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, I have spent some time on the forum and not found it. I'm aware that SVA has different emissions regs for different ages of vehicle/engine. If a "new" engine is fitted how likely is it to pass the SVA? can a carbed engine pass or would you have to go...

Removable / opening GT40 side Windows

Rather than start a new thread, how wide is a typical GT40? Presume some kits vary slightly? More importantly, how much clearance is needed to open the door AND get out. I remember seeing Clarkson trying to get out of the new GT and looks like you have to swing the door wide open due to the...

    Wilwood Front Brakes

Thanks Dave. They will screw in on mine, but very difficult to remove again once onto unthreaded shank. I might just run through with 3/8" drill as I think some of the problem may be the thickness of the anodised coating. Cheers Jono

    Wilwood Front Brakes

Sorry to ressurrect this thread, but I have just ordered Wilwood Midilites from Rally Design. did you get a 1/8 NPT to 10mm metric female adapter? The one they sent me is 1/8NPT to 10mm male (i.e. male-male fitting), just wondered if the male-female was available? Also did you you have any...

    cheap Brembo brakes?

By the looks of it these would need a 16 or 17" wheel minimum (323mm / 12.7" disk), but look like they could be a bargain at £300 / pair. Brembo braking systems and Ferodo Racing pads from DMRR I believe some of you guys use Granada uprights, and as I have Granada calipers on the GT Corty, I...
