    RT saker seat pictures

Looking at the picture that shows the very flat lower section it seems one could lay them back quite a bit w/o imparting any severe leg angles. Bill I love this stuff :) Taking you specs there and plugging them into CAD to see what works here. Where I luck out is the rear firewall in this...

is that the 28 degree layback? Seems a bit "upright" in those pictures compared to how racetech describes it, or is it just mounted on different brackets to make it sit up higher? Was hoping that it was more of a layback angle with a lower height profile

Bill, Yes racetech is my preferred seat company. I've had good luck with fitment in the past and have a 4009 in one car and a 4009hr for the rally car. Figure I couldn't go wrong with their saker. So what you're saying is that at 5'9"/32" inseam and fully secured into the seat, your head is...

    RT saker seat pictures

^^ Agreed and what I follow 100% for the norm here. This isn't a car thing though, more like an ATV type thing, and just recreational. The height of the frame I'm building requires a layback seat. Racetechs have always fit my thin build well and I've never had an issue with them so that's...

    RT saker seat pictures

Good day folks. Been a long time since I logged in here. Good to see the forum salive and kicking :) I'm scratch building a little offroad frame here for a fun toy and am basing the chassis dimensions around a "saker" style seat, like the Race Tech RT Saker 28 degree layback. What I'm...

    Eg33 engine for sale

I'm selling this "swap kit" so to say as I bit the bullet and initiated the production of the first batch of parts for the V12 engine I am developing. I'm not even going to bother with this as a developmental/test engine now as I'm only offering two power plant choices with for my kit car...

    6mtl650 transmission

The 650 box is the quattro AWD gearbox from the RS6. It's essentially the same as the 380 2WD box found in the Porsche Boxster S, but has a center diff and stub shaft. The internals are different to handle the increased torque output of the RS6, but to what extent I don't know as I have not...

    6mtl650 transmission

Audi RS6 AWD variant of the Boxster S gearbox. You'd have to lockup the center diff section, essentially making it a Boxster 6 speed transmission, before you'd be able to use it in a ME-RWD fashion. I've never been inside one of those RS6 boxes yet, so I can't commnet on any other internal...

    another trans adaption

OS Giken makes some superb clutches. I was actually going to use one myself, but now think I might go with an Tilton 7.25 triple organic button. Time will tell when I get further into the build :)

What transaxle with the L33 5.3

The G50/20 is the 993 six speed and is physically bigger than the audi 016 although not by much in height, maybe a difference of a couple inches at their tallest points on the main case. 016 has a must taller bellhousing flange however. g50/20 is a far stronger gearbox in it own right, and...

What transaxle with the L33 5.3

VW Passats all use a transverse layout gearbox and will not work in your application(FWD transverse only) 016 can handle that power as long as you're not abusive, and the gearbox is strengthened a bit(bearing plate as suggested) audi 012 and 01e are you best bet. adaptors are available...

    Boxster 2.5 gearbox

Yes, that they most certainly are! There you go Andy....Boxster S 6 speed input shaft 15/16" diameter @ 23 spline. Good thinking Doug

    Boxster 2.5 gearbox

Off the top of my head no, but I have the guts of a blown one kicking around the shop somewhere. I'll try to remember to take a look for it on Monday and get that info for you.

    Boxster 2.5 gearbox

you're right, I did forget about that too :) One of the missing bolt/dowel provisions I mentioned is actually up by the 6 speed starter. Neat trick about the 6 speed is the bellhousing can be machined/welded to put the starter over the gearbox instead of the engine. Requires a reverse...

    Boxster 2.5 gearbox

One thing I did forget to mention is that you'll probably start seeing the surplus of boxster gearboxes on the net(ebay, surplus sites, etc) start to get smaller. The new Spec Boxster class, and soon to be Spec Cayman class in SCCA racing means people are going to be buying up gearboxes for...

    Boxster 2.5 gearbox

Worst case scenario it fails, you just put a Boxster S 6 speed in it. Much stronger and suited gearbox than the five. :) All critical dimensions are the same except for a little extra length, and mounting/spacing is the same. I think the 6 lacks two bolt provisions that the five speed has...

G50 H pattern is this correct?

spring assit detent in the transmission You pull towards the reverse gate and lever seems to hit a dead stop...that's the spring "lockout"....you then pull through that pressure and then push up into the reverse gate fully to engadge the gear. however that's with the stock lever and shift...

G50 H pattern is this correct?

While the force of moving the selector rod is quite a bit at the rod itself, leverage at the lever makes it a bit easier. I'd be a little warry about running a G50 w/o a reverse lockout. It's not that difficult to slip into R with it disengaged, and could do some good damage if done at forward...
