I haven't noticed a difference between manufacturers. I tighten mine up pretty tight, but I've also taken the shine off my water pump pulley belt surface with sandpaper, which gives it more grip.

I love this. Funny how we’re now restoring the replicas we built in the 80’s! And then I do the math.. my GTD was very nearly 40 years ago..

I’d be amazed if caster isn’t adjustable, but you may have to use washers to move the a-arms fore/aft. I’d add camber too but what you have shouldn’t be showing this behavior. time to check everything again!

Nice job! I just drove mine to the local weighstation - in fact drove it 1,000 miles on the "30 day temp registration" so that was always an option in TX

Hey Malcolm! All pictures gratefully received! ;) I had one set of Pirellis and hated them. I gained seconds a lap when I switched to Bridgestone RE71’s and stuck with them since then. Somehow they had more grip AND lasted longer..

You're welcome; more wheel/tire pics are in my profile. Back then (90's) there were fewer tire choices and even worse for wheels, and I needed very specific backspace/offset so I bought the 3 piece rims and had a local company carve me the centers from billet, then I just bolted them all...

I'm near the end of a 4 month process in Austin, so be prepared. Every step requires an appointment, and some of them are 3-4 week wait. It adds up. The replica route means no emissions, which was a big deal with my old carb'd motor and no computer. Happy to share my story and steps offline or...
